Birth name Nato Andronikashvili. Mother was Polish. Her father came from an old noble family, which has roots from last Byzantine Emperors. She was a mega star of Soviet screen in the twenties and thirties. Studio Sakhkinmretsvi gave her almost Hollywood splendor and glamor. Her name was on top of billboards and on first pages of papers, her photos on the cover of magazines. Red producers created a legend that broke box-offices. It helped studio Sakhkinmretsvi to become one of the biggest for those days in Soviet Union.

Gave birth to her 1st child at age 28, a son Eldar Shengelaia on January 26, 1933. Child's father is her now late 2nd husband, Nikoloz Shengelaia.

Gave birth to her 2nd child at age 32, a son Giorgi Shengelaia on May 11, 1937. Child's father is her now late 2nd husband, Nikoloz Shengelaia.

Kira Andronikashvili was her sister.
