Fran Striker was asked by George W. Trendle to create characters for Trendle's radio program (facts are documented in existing correspondence between Trendle and Striker). While employed by Trendle, Striker created The Lone Ranger and The Green Hornet (facts are documented in existing correspondence between Trendle and Striker). Trendle then bought out all of Striker's rights and subsequent to that time claimed that he (Trendle) "created" the characters because Trendle believed that since he owned the company when Striker was asked by Trendle to create the characters for Trendle & paid Striker for his rights, that he had been the "creator"of those characters. To this day, the Striker family receives no benefit from Fran Striker's creation.
