It’s time for a new episode of The Manson Brothers Show, the video series hosted by the writers/stars of the horror comedy The Manson Brothers Midnight Zombie Massacre – Chris Margetis (Stone Manson) and Mike Carey (Skull Manson)! In this one, the Boys are discussing writer/director Rob Zombie’s twisted road trip movie The Devil’s Rejects (watch it Here). To find out what they had to say about the film, check out the video embedded above!
The Devil’s Rejects has the following synopsis: After a raid on the rural home of the psychopathic Firefly family, two members of the clan, Otis and Baby, manage to flee the scene. Heading to a remote desert motel, the killers reunite with Baby’s father, Capt. Spaulding, who is equally demented and intent on maintaining their murder spree. While the trio continues to torment and kill various victims, the vengeful Sheriff Wydell slowly closes in on them.

Director Roland Emmerich has brought us a whole lot of fun movies over the years, from Independence Day to The Day After Tomorrow, but as far as I’m concerned the best movie he has ever made was his 1992 sci-fi action film Universal Soldier (watch it Here), an awesome movie that pits Jean-Claude Van Damme against a villainous Dolph Lundgren. And that happens to be the movie The Arrow in the Head Show hosts John “The Arrow” Fallon and Lance Vlcek are talking about in the new episode of their show. To find out what they think of Universal Soldier, check out the video embedded above!
Scripted by Richard Rothstein, Christopher Leitch, and Dean Devlin, Universal Soldier tells the following story:
During the Vietnam War, soldier Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) finds that his superior officer, Andrew Scott (Dolph Lundgren), has turned violently deranged, and the two fight to the death.

Not funny enough, or too hip for the house? I found the Coen Bros.' send-up of old-fashioned movie madness good fun, with some great new actors. If you like droll comedy combined with spot-on recreations of old movie genres, this show can't lose. And there has to be somebody out there who wants to see George Clooney in a skirt. Hail, Caesar! Would we have had Mutant Enemy or Bad Robot without Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Robert Tapert's Renaissance Pictures? David thinks not...
After 1992's Army Of Darkness, another Sam Raimi feature film wouldn't emerge in theatres for another three years. What Raimi did with the time in between is anybody's guess - perhaps he wandered the world; maybe he dug through a peculiar collection of Spider-Man comics with most of the dialogue cut out. But what he certainly did with his Renaissance Pictures partners was bring to light a new frontier of genre TV (cue heroic music and a narrator saying, "This is the story of a time long ago – a time of myth and legend. When the ancient gods were petty and cruel, and they plagued mankind with suffering, only one man dared to challenge their power...")

Nicol Williamson as Merlin in Excalibur (John Boorman, 1981, UK):
Turning in by far the best acting in Boorman’s epic, Williamson sets the bar for all other interpretations of the Merlin character. Best known as an acclaimed stage actor with a history of incredibly unprofessional behavior, this is Williamson’s most memorable film role and will have you chanting the “charm of making” in no time.
Rutger Hauer as Roy Batty in Blade Runner (Ridley Scott, 1982, USA):
As an android seeking to prolong his short life, Hauer’s unique screen presence is perfectly utilized in director Scott’s atmospheric science fiction milestone. Hauer brings a sort of “alien” quality to the character Roy Batty and really makes this role a truly superior piece of casting.
Other notable Rutger Hauer performances: Nighthawks (Bruce Malmuth, 1981, USA), The Hitcher (Robert Harmon, 1986, USA).
Ricardo Montalban as Khan in Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan (Nicholas Meyer,...

Varese Sarabande has announced the newest titles in their CD Club series. Among the new releases is a deluxe edition of Marco Beltrami‘s score for Wes Craven’s original Scream film. Only about 12 minutes of music from the horror movie has previously been released on a compilation with the sequel’s score. The new album features more than an hour of music from the film, which introduced Beltrami to a wider audience. One track on the CD is credited to Christophe Beck, who also was just starting out at the time of the film’s release. The album is limited to 2000 copies and is now available to pre-order on Varese’s website, where you can see the full track list and listen to audio clips from the soundtrack. Scream was released in 1996 and it’s cast included Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Skeet Ulrich, Jamie Kennedy and Drew Barrymore.

The C Adolph Moores blog spoke to Robert Trebor and they have just posted Part 1 of the interview.
It is not often that I have access to a Renaissance man of Hollywood like Robert Trebor. Actor, director, screenwriter, author, monologist, composer and critic, his oeuvre has spanned four decades in film, publishing, television and the stage. He began his entertainment career as a film critic (our simpatico) and has worked with such diverse personalities as John Frankenheimer, Oliver Stone, Lucy Lawless, Rob Zombie, Martin Sheen and Hillary Duff. He is perhaps best known for his continuing role as Salmoneus on the popular Xena and Hercules television shows and is one of the most recognizable character actors working today.
Trebor shows a great openness during our Q & A, reflecting on his craft and the successes/struggles of a working artist in the business of show. He deflects my more lurid, prurient...

"Northeast native son Robert Trebor is one of the special guests at this month's "Xena Convention" -- ask who Xena is and "Stars" will sic Lucy Lawless on ya -- out L.A. way. Sure, friends and family knew Bob early on as Robert Schenkman but those in the know really know him as one of the stalwart stars of the much-missed "Xena: Warrior Princess," or as they called him in that TV wonk of warlords: Salmoneus. (No, he didn't catch it from an undercooked character.)" Many thanks to Barbara Davies for the info.
