Stage and radio child actor in the 1930s. After wartime service in the U.S. Army Signals Corps, Tokar worked in television for several years as regular helmsman for Leave It to Beaver (1957). On the strength of this, he was signed by the Disney Organization in 1963 to handle assorted comedies and light family fare.

Played Henry Aldrich on radio's "The Aldrich Family", replacing Ezra Stone, when he entered the Army.

Performed on Broadway from 1939-1942.
