Most famous for playing Leroy Forrester, the nephew and ward of the
Great Gildersleeve on old time radio from 1941 to 1957.
There is a biography book written on Walter by Ben Ohmart, using Walter's personal scrapbooks that his mother kept, including a notebook full of every radio credit and personal appearance he ever did as a child actor.
Body cremated and remains were placed in an unmarked grave.
In 1971, he was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident and used a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
