Alaric began his career in the Singapore film and television industry as an actor at the age of seventeen when he was given a supporting role in That's the Way I Like It (1998); a Singapore feature film directed by Glen Goei, and distributed by Miramax.
Since then, Alaric has appeared in numerous films and television shows. His earlier works, such as Money (2000) and Whizzes Of The Void Deck (2003-2005), secured Alaric's position as Singapore's next funny man. He later became well known for playing larger than life comedic characters like Xin HuaHua, Andre Chichak, Nicholas Le Fong and Mopi Koh in Mediacorp Channel 5's award-winning satirical comedy sketch show, The Noose (2007-present). His performance in the International Emmy nominated show garnered him two commendations at the Asian Television Awards (ATA) in 2010 & 2011.
In 2013, Alaric appeared in HBO Asia's first original series Serangoon Road (2013). This marked his foray into the action-drama territory, which gave him a third commendation at the following year's ATA.
With his performing range widened significantly, Alaric took on more dramatic antagonist roles, as evident in Mata Mata (2013) and Rise (2016).
Alaric is also an avid filmmaker. During the span of his career, he has written, produced and directed half a dozen short films, which have travelled the international film festival circuit as official selections, including Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival (CCI-IFF), the ReelHeART International Film Festival (RHIFF) and the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. His film When We Were Bengs (2006) picked up 3 wins at the RHIFF in 2007.
In 2017, Alaric directed and co-produced HBO Asia's first comedy-drama series Sent, starring Haresh Tilani (Ministry of Funny) and Adrian Pang (That's The Way I Like It).
Alaric has a Bachelor of Film & Television from The Griffith Film School (Griffith University, Australia) and a Diploma of Film, Sound & Video from The School of Film & Media Studies (Ngee Ann Polytechnic).
