Michael Tabb's pet project is to direct his coming-of-age, college-years dramedy feature-film screenplay Christmas Misfits, which won top prize of Best Screenplay in the screenplay competition at the New Mexico International Film Festival. Initial attachments to this script included Brittany Snow, Ashley Tisdale, Kellan Lutz, Evan Ross, and world-class cinematographer Gabriel Beristain.

Michael Tabb was one of the few creators and co-founders of the WGA's Mentor Program, and ran it for the first year, recruiting some of the biggest writers in Hollywood to mentor its newest members.

Michael Tabb wrote the book Prewriting Your Screenplay: A Step-By-Step Guide to Generating Stories. It has been endorsed by many top television and film screenwriters as well as screenwriting educators from UCLA, USC, AFI, NYU to name a few.

As a way of giving back, Michael wrote several articles about tricks to his screenwriting process.
