- Viola Kates Stimpson was born on October 25, 1906 in Brooklyn, New York, USA. She was an actress, known for Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986), Nutty Professor II: The Klumps (2000) and Graduation Day (1981). She died on January 14, 2008 in Tarzana, California, USA.
- She was the first "Star Trek" cast member to reach the age of 100. She was later followed by Ellen Albertini Dow, Olaf Pooley and Norman Lloyd.
- Returned to college in 1951 and became a school teacher in Los Angeles until her retirement in 1971. She then resumed her acting career as a character actress.
- Started her career as a dancer and chorine on stage during the 1920s.
