U.S.-based distributor Synkronized Distribution has acquired the world rights for the crime drama “The Vortex,” represented by Iuvit Media Sales at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin.
The film is directed by Richard Zelniker (“As Night Comes”) and written by Steven Barr. It stars Billy Gardell, Jaina Lee Ortiz and Jamie McShane.
“The Vortex” looks at the tragic 1980 MGM Grand fire on the Las Vegas Strip, and tells the story of a Native American Paiute cleaning lady who enters the casino, setting off a chain of weird events and unexplained gambling wins.
The events center on the in-house comedian (played by Gardell), who is struggling with a gambling addiction, and plays shrink to a host of colorful characters and is forced to make a life-altering decision.
“The Vortex” is produced by Lucid Pictures, with the participation of Olliecorp. It is produced by Richard Zelniker, Adriana Rotaru, Callie Nguyen Zelniker and Justin Richards.

Recently, CBS put out an official press release for their upcoming episode 5 of this current season 15. It features a brief teaser description of the episode, and it sounds like we're going to see some pretty serious stuff take place. The NCIS team is going to discover a major breach when they investigate a new case. Additionally, McGee will get pretty embarrassed and more. The CBS press release also revealed that episode 5 is entitled, "Fake It Til You Make It." According to their description, we're going to see Reeves get quite distraught because he's going to see his friend get kidnapped! This will prompt the NCIS team to launch a big investigation to find the missing friend. Last night, Showtime dropped these 3, new promo/spoiler clips (below) for their upcoming "Californication" episode 9 of season 7, and they look quite interesting as Hank nervously waits for Karen's status at the hospital, receives friendly advice from the hottest nun on the planet, and more. The episode is titled, "Faith, Hope,Love." In the new episode 9, Hank will end up, recalling very hard times with Karen, a confused Becca, and their days with a happier Charlie and Marcy. In the meantime, a super sexy nun will end up, assisting Hank in putting things into perspective. Guest stars are going to include: Yolanda Snowball, Christian Clemenson, Jeris Lee Poindexter, Pamela S. Adlon as Marcy, and Jon Kasdan as The Director Ping Wu.
