Trying is back with an all-new season of parenting and feel-good fun. Created by Andy Wolton, the Apple TV+ comedy-drama series is all set to return for its much-anticipated fourth season and the fans of the series will get a very different experience this season compared to its previous seasons.

Bloody Disgusting has learned that London/Singapore-based international content investment studio 108 Media will finance, co-develop, and produce the upcoming premium live-action supernatural-action returning series “Nightshade” (6 x 60 minute episodes) with co-showrunners Simon Uttley and Neil Marshall, who will be directing the pilot.

Genre regular Neil Marshall, whose credits include Dog Soldiers, The Descent, Doomsday, Hellboy, and The Reckoning, is teaming up with Alleycats writer Simon Uttley to executive produce and serve as showrunners on the live-action supernatural action series Nightshade. 108 Media is financing, co-developing, and producing the show, with Marshall also on board to direct the pilot episode. The first season of Nightshade is expected to consist of six hour-long episodes.
108 Media’s Abhi Rastogi, Justin Deimen, and Rod Smith will executive produce the show alongside Marshall and Uttley.

Exclusive: UK production and distribution firm 108 Media has acquired a majority stake in Singapore-based animation studio Robot Playground Media (Rpm).
Co-founded and run by Ervin Han and Bernard Toh, Rpm specializes in developing and producing animation IP for clients including Warner Bros., Disney Southeast Asia, Discovery, MediaCorp, StarHub and Viacom.
In 2019, Toh directed Mickey Go Local, a short animated series commissioned by The Walt Disney Company marking the first original animation series produced by the studio in Southeast Asia.
Han directed and was the showrunner on Downstairs, which is now into its third season and was acquired by Netflix. He also created Singapore’s first animated prime time series Heartland Hubby for MediaCorp.
In 2021 the company won two awards at the Asian Academy Creative Awards – one for Downstairs (Best Animated Programme) and the other for Spectrum (Grand Final Winner (Best Shortform Content)).

Paramount brings Smith aboard
Roderick Smith has been named executive vp of production finance for Paramount.
In his new position, Smith will oversee the day-to-day operations of the studio's production finance department, which includes budgeting, cost estimating and monitoring of production incentives and tax rebate activity for domestic and international productions.
Smith will report to Mark Bakshi, Paramount's president of feature production management, who made Thursday's announcement.
Bakshi lauded Smith's extensive knowledge of film financing and said his ability to manage a slate of films was an asset to Paramount.
Smith, who prior to joining Paramount served as senior vp of production finance at Marvel Studios, has also held executive finance positions at Walt Disney Pictures and Universal Pictures.
