The Hives are hooked on a feeling and high on believing! The Swedish rockers have unleashed a cover of Björn Skifs’s classic tune “Hooked on a Feeling.” Stream it below.
In true Hives fashion, the cover is loose, fast-paced, and certifiably rockin’. It’s too bad James Gunn has hung up the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, because it would have made for a fantastic needle drop. Still, it serves as a fun, raucous tribute from one Swedish act to another.

“I think there’s a synergy effect of Swedish music having made it abroad, and you feel like it’s possible,” Hives vocalist Pelle Almqvist said. “We can’t make it more perfect than the original is, so we went the other way instead: ruined it but made it sound exciting.”

Switzerland has won the Eurovision Song Contest.
Swiss entry Nemo stormed the contest with the song “The Code,” walking away with 591 points — a combination of a jury vote and public vote.
But during Nemo’s victory performance at the end of the four-hour show the singer accidentally dropped the microphone-shaped glass trophy, injuring their thumb in the process.
“I didn’t just break ‘The Code’ I also broke the trophy,” said Nemo during the press conference after the show, where their hand was wrapped in a bandage. “I broke my thumb as well. But I got a new [trophy] so I technically have two now.”
The non-binary singer — who is the first Swiss Eurovision winner since Celine Dion won in 1988 — was presented with the trophy by last year’s winner, Swedish singer Loreen.

When James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy came out in August of 2014, I did not know anything about the team of Guardians. As a matter of fact I didn't even go see this film in theaters. But when I did see it I was hooked from the the opening sequence of the film where Star Lord, played by Chris Pratt, steals a mysterious orb. The main reason why? The great soundtrack that accompanied the film, this particular scene was included the song Come and Get Your Love by Redbone. The rest of the film featured great songs like Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Swede and Want You Back by The Jackson 5. These were all part of Peter Quill's "Awesome Mixtape" that he carried with him everywhere he went on his walkman.

Raccoons, or trash pandas as the Internet likes to call them, get a bad rap.
Sure, they love rifling through garbage to find a stinky snack, and they have been known to hiss at homeowners while trespassing on their property. But this is only one side of the noble raccoon, the work side, if you will.
The play side is much more relatable. As these videos show, raccoons blindly adore some of the same things we do, namely bubbles and Blue Swede’s “Hooked on a Feeling.”

Disney Xd's upcoming animated series take on Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" is set owe even more to last year's hit film as the show is set to get its own licensed soundtrack 1970s hits with the "Cosmic Mix Volume One".
The soundtrack will feature in the series itself and will be available to purchase physically and digitally from October 16th. No doubt the studio is keen for this to be even half as successful as the film's "Awesome Mix Volue One" was.
The track list is as follows, and unsurprisingly there's already already YouTube playlists of all the songs on the Cosmic Mix:
"Hooked On a Feeling" – Blue Swede
"Funk No. 49" – The James Gang
"Drift Away" – Dobie Gray
"Walk Away" – The James Gang
"Boys Are Back in Town" – Thin Lizzy
"Shake Your Groove Thing" – Peaches and Herb
"Funk Funk" – Cameo
"Joy to the World" – Three Dog Night

Following the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack's chart-topping breakout success last year, the album finally came out on cassette, the format it was on as a prop in the movie, toward the end of the year. Released as a special edition for Record Store Day's Black Friday event, Wondering Sound reports that 2,300 copies of the album in its mostly defunct, recently fetishized format sold. It was the second-best-selling cassette of the year.

Jerry Goldsmith, Planet Of The Apes (1968) Nominee for Best Original Score for a Motion Picture
By Michelle McCue and Melissa Thompson
As 2014 comes to a close, we take a look back at some of the best movie music from this past year. The backbone of any movie, audiences heard rocket engines roar, traveled through Lego worlds and made spiritual connections all thanks to the musical vision of the composer.
In a mix that was soulful, haunting and fun, this year’s soundtracks covered a range of emotions, from light to dark, to atmospheric and assaultive.
Our Top 15 scores wouldn’t be complete without an honorable mention…
Michael Giacchino – Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes
The story about the birth of a civilization and “restart” for the planet Earth was no more prevalent than with the emotional reality of composer Michael Giacchino’s score. Director Matt Reeves’ sequel to 2011’s...

At the end of the day, trailers often make or break a film. A trailer can quickly turn “Why are they making a movie about a talking raccoon?” into box office gold. On the other side of the coin, a bad trailer could dampen our sky-high hopes for an upcoming franchise sequel. Terminator: Genisys, I’m looking at you.
Some trailers give away too much about the movie, and some too little. There are, however, a handful of trailers that are a perfect blend of plot, style, and tease – and 2014 had some great examples.
But what were the best?
Sorry, trailer for The Grand Budapest Hotel, you were great, but you hit the Internet last October. Yes, it’s awesome to have a new Avengers trailer, but is it really the best of the year? Even with its unsettling use of “I’ve Got No Strings,” we’re going to say no.

How did we get to the stage where trailer launches seem like bigger events than the movies they're promoting? Hype and buzz rule all, but that said we'll admit we still get a giddy thrill out of seeing a good trailer. The 2-minute promo has become an art form in itself, and in 2014 Hollywood went to town when it came to selling the biggest and best films.
Digital Spy looks at 10 of the best trailers of the year below...
10. Gone Girl
David Fincher knows how to put a trailer together, and the tease for his adaptation of Gone Girl used Richard Butler's rendition of 'She' to gloriously unsettling effect. On first glance this looks like a fairly routine disappearance thriller, but in keeping Rosamund Pike's Amy Dunne in the background there's a sense that maybe Fincher and author/screenwriter Gillian Flynn are holding something back.
9. Guardians of the Galaxy
"A thief.

James Gunn has quickly jumped up to the top of my favorite directors list. Not just because of the awesome film's he has directed, like Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither, but because he is a freaking cool guy. Gunn is also heavily connected with social media, and today, as promised, he revealed the original Awesome Mix Vol. 1 for Guardians of the Galaxy on Facebook. Here's his reveal and breakdown of the the music:
For the first time, the Entire Awesome Mix Volume 1
In honor of this new Facebook like page, I thought I'd give you what many of you have been asking for for so long. When Chris Pratt and I started working together on Guardians of the Galaxy, I gave him a mixed tape (okay, I admit, a mixed CD) of Awesome Mix Volume 1, that he could listen to endlessly, so he'd know it backwards and forwards, just...

We’ve posted quite a few Guardians of the Galaxy mashups on our site. My favorite so far is the Star Wars mashup that cut footage from the Star Wars trilogy into a more modern style trailer that used Norman Greenbaum’s “Spirit in the Sky” and Blue Swede’s “Hooked On A Feeling” — the two songs used most heavily in the promotion of GotG. That thing was perfection. This new mashup by Robert Jones parodies the Friends intro, using the classic sitcom’s theme to introduce characters from Marvel’s runaway hit. I love/hate this mashup. I love it because it’s a funny concept executed well. I hate it because it immediately forced my brain to consider which Guardians of the Galaxy character would be which Friends character. Now I’m gonna force you to read what I came up with:
I know some of you will...

We’ve managed to get our hands on some exclusive new bonus material from the home entertainment release of Guardians Of The Galaxy, featuring a look at the music of the film. Boasting the runaway soundtrack of the year, Guardians’ mix of 70s pop classics lifts the action throughout, with James Gunn and Chris Pratt both speaking here about the importance of the mix tape that features Blue Swede, The Runaways et al. As the pair explain, the soundtrack does a great job of linking the intergalactic action with Peter Quill’s earthbound...

YouTuber Dustin Young has put together a fun cosplay music video for Long Beach Comic Con 2014. He cut it to the song "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede, which will sound very familiar to you because it was made popular again thanks to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. I haven't been to Long Beach Comic Con since it first launched, but it looks like it's doing very well for itself in terms of cosplay. There are some pretty cool costumes that people were showing off at the con. ...

(Cbr) When Mondo announced early this month that it will release the hit soundtrack "Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Volume 1" on deluxe vinyl, a common response was, “That’s great, but shouldn’t it be on cassette?” Well, now it will be, undoubtedly leading to refrains of, “What’s a cassette?” According to Billboard, the limited-edition release from Marvel Music/Hollywood Records will arrive Nov. 17, exclusively to independent retailers associated with Record Store Day. The first cassette released by Disney Music Group since 2003, it will remain available through Dec. 31. Each cassette will come with a digital-download version of the soundtrack. Debuting July 29, the soundtrack to Marvel’s blockbuster space adventure spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200; it’s the first soundtrack consisting entirely of previously released songs to reach the top of the chart. According to Billboard, "Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Volume 1" has sold more than 543,000 copies.

Mondo has announced that they will be releasing the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack on vinyl, and they've revealed the art and specs for it. This is one of the best movies I've seen this year, and one of the things I loved about it most was the soundtrack and how that music played an important part of telling the story. That walkman and those songs were like characters themselves.
The art you see above was created by Tyler Stout, and one of the other cool things about the vinyl release is that each one will come randomly packed with one of the following 9 mini prints. They are currently taking pre-orders right here.

This summer biggest hit, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy revived many things: Blue Swede's "Hooked on a Feeling"; the sex appeal of green skin; and how much fun it can be when a sidekick doesn't say much. Of course, not all nonverbal sidekicks are intelligent trees with dialogue limited to "I am Groot." Some are completely silent, some speak infrequently, and some just have an exceptionally limited vocabulary, but in all cases, they're not holding up their end of the conversation. Here are 12 sidekicks who prefer to remain men...

When Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn began assembling the soundtrack for his Marvel superhero flick, he wanted familiar hits but not overplayed radio staples. In the movie, now officially the biggest film of the year, these songs would connect lead character Peter "Star-Lord" Quill – who was abducted by aliens just after his mother's death in 1988 – to his old life and the era his mother grew up in.
