Bogomil Simeonov(1922-1991)
- Actor
Bogomil Parvanov Simeonov is a Bulgarian actor . He was born in Radomir, Bulgaria on September 27, 1922. In 1954, when he was already 32 years old, he graduated from "acting" in National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria. His late graduation is due to military school, where he was preparing to be a pilot. His airman's career was interrupted ridiculous. During his studies at the military school his friend emigrated illegally abroad. After years he managed to come back illegally. He slept two nights in the apartment of Bogomil and went, but the information was provided to special services. And the young pilot has got fearsome for those years a label "unreliable." However, they admitted him to study for actor in National Academy for Theatre and Film Art and in 1955 he was distributed in Pernik Drama Theater. His first role was Boycho Ognyanov in "Under the Yoke". The premiere of the film "Earth", directed by Zahari Zhandov, was on March 4, 1957 and as they say, the next morning Bogomil Simeonov waked up well known. Story of Elin Pelin is familiar to readers and although each creates its own vision for the characters, the actor covers quite convincing ideas about Enyo. Main is the second cinema role of Bogomil Simeonov in the movie "Life Flows Slowly by..." (Screenwriter Hristo Ganev, director Binka Zhelyazkova). The actor once again has the chance to play a complex character - Zhelyo. In the capacity as Member of Parliament, Zhelyo has decided that a monument to his death comrade-in-arms Velko should be raised on the site of his heroic death, instead of having developed the iron ore deposits in the area and thus provide jobs for the locals. But instead of a debate in society about the use and belittling the ideals 10 years after 1944, the film was not allowed to screens. It is the first film officially banned in the socialist cinematography. Instead 1958, its premiere was 30 years later, in 1988. The film received the Special Prize of the Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers. Bogomil Simeonov's handsome male face and eyes continued to admire the audience. In the "Law of the Sea" (1958) he is Alexander. After these three strong characters of the actor are followed two characters who are determined only in positive colors. In "Beyond the Horizon" (1960) Simeonov is Stefan - iron communist, ready to sail by wooden boat in Black Sea to Odessa in order to go to Spain's international brigades. In "The Captain" (1963) he is a former sailor Fomicha who helps a group of pioneers to build a small ship. The next two roles of Bogomil Simeonov are in historical films. His masculine figure and face are well suited for portraits of rulers. In "Kaloyan" (1963) Simeonov is in the role of Milan, but in "Ivaylo" (1964) is already playing itself swineherd, elevated to king. We know from history about a dramatic time in Bulgaria in the 13th century, when desperate people rebelled against the bloody dynastic struggles in the country; as a result country is weakened and it becomes easy prey to foreign invaders. Milan is a wise nobleman who genuinely helps inexperienced Kaloyan. For this role the actor was honored with the prize of the Union of Actors. When shooting as Ivaylo, Bogomil Simeonov is about 40 years old. For the role of Ivaylo the actor received the Best Actor Award at the film festival in Varna in 1965. The universal actor firmly operated in the cinema, but in 1971 he received a true nationally well known thanks to Bulgarian National Television. In 1969, Bulgarian National Television began to broadcast the series "At Every Kilometer." Bogomil Simeonov appeared in the sixth series of the continuation of the series in 1971, playing the role of Abraham Ahmedov called Predator. In the following years he starred in many movies. Their number is more than 40. Filmmakers prefer him more about for historical roles. In "Demon of Empire" (1971) he is Chochoolu; in "The Marriage of John Asen" (1975) - King Andrew; in "Khan Asparuh" - Priest; in "Time of Violence" - Ismail Bey, which was his last film role. Since the early 80th Bogomil Simeonov went to Shumen Drama Theater. His last role on stage was Ivancho Hadzhipenchovich in "Last Supper of the Deacon Levski". Already seriously ill, he stoically withstands pain and has played as always he it was doing. The actor died on August 15, 1991. In his request he was buried in Shumen.
