Sharron Shayne is a Lifetime Member of the Actors' Studio. Born on the Lower East Side of New York, her passion for theatre began as a toddler when her grandmother took her to the neighborhood Yiddish Theatre. Her very first audition was for a Broadway show. Much to everyone's amazement, she got it! Thus began a long line of shows Off-Broadway and off-off Broadway, as well as regionally. Manhattan Theatre Club,, Playwrights Horizons, Circle Repertory,New Dramatists, Theatre For the New City, Negro Ensemble Company. She was on her way to live in Paris, when fate stepped in and recruited her to Los Angeles to reprise a role in The Healers", for which she received raves in New York Falling in love with the Palm trees she stayed. Her first LA audition was for a highly acclaimed play, "Close" by upcoming playwright, John Steppling, which again, she also got, receiving raves and awards, Many Los Angeles theatre credits, awards and affiliations followed: Theatre West, West Coast Ensemble, Padua Playwrights, Heliogabulous, Odyssey Theatre, Pacific Resident Theatre, Rogue Machine, Theatre40. Most recently "Daytona" at Rogue Machine, critics choice and raves for all.
Recent film appearances, " The Gift" for Film Independent which won HBO MAX New Visionaries award, "See You at Sunrise", "Mirage", , "Keeping Company","Joshy", "Queen of Spades"(Polish Film Festival). "Wes Schlaugenhauf is Dying", is filming "Fitumi"(Fake It Till You Make it), and in pre-production for "The Next Cassavettes".
Sharron studied acting with the great mentors: Stella Adler, Harold Clurman, Bobby Lewis, James Tuttle (Meisner Technique), Arthur Storch, Paul Richards, and the late, great John Lehne, as well as at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. She is also a painter and sculptor and recent graduate of Otis College of Art & Design.
She was married to writer/director/editor Lawrence Simeone (Deceased 2002), appearing in two of his films, "The Gifted", and "Go Fish".
