Courtney Love surprised attendees at the Royal Geographical Society in London by singing a cover of the Bob Dylan classic “Like a Rolling Stone.”
The Hole singer was at the venue on Tuesday (March 4th) to host a conversation with actor-writer Todd Almond to discuss his new book Slow Train Coming: Bob Dylan’s Girl From the North Country and Broadway’s Rebirth. Following the talk, the pair were joined by an acoustic guitarist as they got up to sing “Like a Rolling Stone,” with Love on lead vocals and Almond backing her up.
The performance came 59 years after Dylan sang the song at his famous 1966 concert at Royal Albert Hall, which is right next door to the Royal Geographical Society. It also came roughly a year after Love joined Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong for a few Cheap Trick and Tom Petty covers in London.

Courtney Love has shared more details about her upcoming solo album, including its collaborators — both the ones who said yes and the one who, apparently, ghosted her.
As she explained in a new interview with The Standard, Love didn’t “intend” for the album to be so collaborative. She’s choosing to keep most of its contributors close to the vest, but she did confirm Michael Stipe’s involvement. “Stipe mentioned our collaboration to The New York Times, so I can say it’s gorgeous,” Love explained. “I fell down weeping hearing his voice – it’s better than ever! I thought I knew the outcome, but I’m still the grasshopper while Michael is the sensei.”
She also confirmed that that Echo & the Bunnymen’s Will Sergeant plays on the album. “Will Sergeant, my favorite guitarist on earth, from my favorite band agreed to work with me!,” Love said. “He’s such an icon.

Legendary musician from The Beatles, Paul McCartney is said to have been addicted to playing classic arcade shoot-’em-up games before he recorded his hits. The 81-year-old Beatles icon’s love of being a joystick warrior ahead of studio sessions has been revealed by Echo and the Bunnymen guitarist Will Sergeant, reports Female First UK.
Paul’s fellow Liverpudlian Will, 65, said in his new book ‘Echoes: A Memoir Continued’ about meeting Sir Paul at London’s Air Studios: “While we’re hanging around in the games room, Paul McCartney pops in and says, ‘So you are the Bunnymen from Liverpool, are ya? Nice to meet you. We look on with broad smiles. ‘My God, Paul knows our name and seems to know who we are’.”
Liverpudlian added: “He sticks around for a brew and I play a video game with him. It’s either ‘Asteroids’ or ‘Tank Commander’, one of the latest video game crazes.

Moby released a new album, Ambient 23, on Sunday. Earlier in the month, the musician announced the LP, explaining that the 16-track set is inspired by his early ambient heroes, including Martyn Ware, Brian Eno, Jean-Michel Jarre, and Will Sergeant.
“It’s a bit different than some of my more recent Ambient records because it’s almost exclusively made with weird old drum machines and old synths,” he added.
On its release day marking a new year, Moby provided a bit more background on the two-and-a-half-hour-long album. It was “Made to help anxiety (my own,...

Art rock has a long and storied history perpetuated by bands like Jethro Tull, King Crimson and the Velvet Underground. And then, of course, there are so many performers who have become artists as well, ranging from Brian Eno to Bon Jovi’s Tico Torres, with too many modern acts to name. Now, one more talented musician can be added to this list of cross-media artists, as Echo and the Bunnymen guitarist Will Sergeant opens his first major American gallery exhibition tomorrow....

Echo & The Bunnymen's Will Sergeant has said that his band hated The Smiths in the 1980s. The guitarist told Xtaster that the Liverpudlian Bunnymen were not fond of their Mancunian contemporaries. Sergeant said: "Everybody used to go and watch everybody else, but it was generally to slag them off. "That was kind of normal. Liverpool had a very bitchy vibe then. We didn't like The Smiths, we hated them. (more)...
