Victoria Schultz was born 1941 in Helsinki, Finland. She earned master's degrees from the University of Helsinki and from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, 1968. After reporting on events in the US and Latin America for Finnish Broadcasting Company. radio and TV, she began producing documentaries. Known today for her courageous film on Argentina under the military in 1978, she went on to make Women in Arms (1981) on the participation of women in the Sandinista revolution and Holy Terror (1986) on the anti-abortion movement in the US. As staff producer at the United Nations, her major documentaries on disarmament were broadcast the world over. From 1999 through 2001 she produced on-camera reports from Kosovo for CNN World Report. Presently based in New York and Paris, she produces and directs independent dramatic movies using 35mm film, first of these is Memories of Desire (2019).
