Hellena Taylor is a British actress and the English voice artist for Bayonetta in all of her appearances prior to Bayonetta 3.
Taylor was born in West London and was a member of the Surrey Youth Theatre and National Youth Theatre of Great Britain as a teenager. She attended and trained in a three-year course at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and has done numerous theatre and live-action film roles throughout her career.
Her extensive theatre credits include: Tess in Wendy Wasserstein's The Sisters Rosensweig at The Old Vic, directed by Michael Blakemore (also starring Janet Suzman and Maureen Lipman); Killing Him at The Pleasance, the Edinburgh Festival (also starring Alexander Armstrong and Jez Butterworth); Eliza Dolittle in Pygmalion (for which she was nominated for the Evelyn Case Award for Best Actress at the Long Beach Playhouse); Masha in Three Sisters; Maria in Westside Story; the Queen in Cymbeline; Simone in Marat Sade; and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing.
As well as appearing in numerous video game roles, Taylor has also done additional voice work for other media, such as television announcements, film trailers, radio, commercials, anime, and cartoons, including reprising her well-known role of Bayonetta in the film Bayonetta: Bloody Fate.
Taylor was originally set to reprise her role as Bayonetta in Bayonetta 3, however she left the project, leaving Jennifer Hale to replace her.
After spending some time working in Los Angeles, she lives and works in London.
