- Supporting actor, the son of a chemist, on stage from 1927. He appeared in German films of the 1930's and 40's, often as handsome, smartly-attired gigolos or crooks. After being conscripted in 1944, Scharf was killed in action during the closing stages of World War II on the Eastern Front.
- The actor Werner Scharf made his film debut in 1929 with "Ins Blaue hinein" and he became established as a support actor in well-known productions of the 30's.
- When World War II drew to a close Werner Scharf, who was drafted to the Volkssturm in 1944, was killed on April 30, 1945 at the age of 40.
- During wartime he was able to take part in successful productions like "Stern von Rio" (1940), "Titanic" (1943), "Akrobat Schööön! (1943) and "Kolberg" (1945).
- He was killed in battle on April 30th, 1945 (the same day Adolf Hitler killed himself).
