Writer Adam Rockoff reteams with director David DeCoteau on a new Lifetime thriller that bears a striking resemblance to this month’s earlier title, Million Dollar Lethal Listing.
In Fatal Fixer Upper, Vivian (Jasmine Aivaliotis) and Ryan (Philip McElroy) are a young married couple preparing to purchase their dream home. Just like in Million Dollar Lethal Listing, the deal is too good to be true: the house is wildly underpriced, the owner is looking for a quick sale, and they’re asked to make a hefty cash deposit.
Unlike the former title, though, there’s no mystery about who the villain is in Fatal Fixer Upper. The film opens with a classic Lifetime cold open that immediately establishes that there is a bad man keeping an eye on things. His identity is quickly revealed as Josh Thomas (Duke Van Patten), the home’s original owner and the person spying on...

IMDb TV, Amazon’s free, ad-supported video on demand streaming service, is rebranding to Amazon Freevee, beginning April 27. The rebranding had been in the works for awhile, with the idea for the new moniker to share the Amazon branding of its parent company.
Originally launched as Freedive in January 2019, IMDb TV has grown dramatically, becoming an important pillar in Amazon’s larger push into video advertising.
Over the last two years, IMDb TV has tripled monthly active users, fueled by increased distribution and foray into originals. Following a launch in the UK last September, Freevee will continue its international expansion with a launch in Germany later this year.
Additionally, the plan is for Freevee to grow its originals slate by 70 in 2022, including the spinoff of the longest-running Original series for Prime Video, Bosch: Legacy, premiering May 6; a new home-design series, Hollywood Houselift with Jeff Lewis; Greg Garcia’s comedy series...

The seemingly endless wait for the Syfy summer schedule is finally over! There is good news and bad, and one thing that is both good and bad. Let’s start with that: the Eureka Season Finale. We love Eureka, so every episode is good news; the fact that it’s a series finale, not so much. Mark your calendars – and have plenty of Kleenex in stock – for July 16 at 9/8c. Right after Comic-Con, which is early this year. We’ll see if that means a panel or not.
The good news: Warehouse 13 and Alphas return on July 23. The hmmm news is that Lost Girl will move to Fridays at 10 on July 20. Hey That’S Haven’S Spot. So Where The Heck Is Haven? Admittedly we had a head’s up that Haven would be pushed to fall when we learned that the DVDs for Season 2 weren’t being released until September but Argh.

Syfy cast Tony Sirico (Paulie Walnuts on "The Sopranos"), Paul Sorvino (Paul Cicero in Goodfellas), Jack Scalia ("Dallas"), Joey Fatone (‘N Sync), and William Atherton (Die Hard) in the film. Of course the cast wouldn’t be complete without some chum from MTV’s "Jersey Shore" — it also stars Vinny Guadagnino.

It's incredible to think that Steven Spielberg's 'Jaws', even 36 years on, still manages to influence so many terrible sounding shark attack flicks. Amongst the absolute brimming swarm of shark-infested features that have swam onto TV and DVD lately comes word of 'Jersey Shore Shark Attack'. The John Shepphird helmed project penned by foursome Michael Ciminera, Richard Gnolfo, Jeffrey Schenck and Peter Sullivan moves the deadly ocean-dwelling predators to Jersey Shore and features a bunch of characters clearly spoofing the cast of the American reality show of the same name. Jeremy Luc, Melissa Molinaro, Jack Scalia, Paul Sorvino, William Atherton, Tony Sirico, Joey Russo, Daniel Booko, Alex Mauriello, Audi Resendez, Grant Harvey, Dylan Vox, Joey Fatone and Ben Giroux all star. If you haven't guessed by now this Aro Entertainment, Curmudgeon Films and Hybrid co-production will air first on SyFy....

Currently enjoying something of a career renaissance, particularly leaning towards more independently minded cinema, is one time Batman Val Kilmer. With his name associated with no less than ten pictures in the previous year, the fifty one year old actor has been linked with another myriad of projects, the latest of which is The First Ride of Wyatt Earp, based on the life of the legendary figure from the Wild West of the early 19th century, and a man whose fame can be attributed foremost to his role in the notorious “Gunfight at the Ok Corral;” an incident which in itself has been subject of many screen-writers – including early 90′s pic Tombstone, where Kilmer played the part of Doc Holliday, perhaps his best remembered screenrole.
According to Variety, the new film based on a true story:

Val Kilmer has signed on to play one of the most famous gunslingers from the Wild West, good old Wyatt Earp. We’ve already seen Kilmer as a badass cowboy in Tombostone, where the actor portrayed Doc Holliday. Variety reports that the actor will be returning to the West in The First Ride of Wyatt Earp, where he will portray an older Earp reflecting on one of his most famous stories. The film is based on a true story which follows the story of “an elderly Earp sitting down with a reporter to reflect on the ride that made him a legend, when the young marshal rounded up a posse to track down the outlaw who mistakenly murdered the woman he loved.”
The First Ride of Wyatt Earp is said to be a “Young Guns for the next generation” and will appeal to a much younger crowd. I’d say that’s a bad idea,...

Val Kilmer will play the elderly Wyatt Earp in indie Western The First Ride of Wyatt Earp, which Michael Feifer is directing. The screenplay is penned by Darren Benjamin Shepherd and the flick is now in production in California. Barry Barnholtz and Jeffrey Schenck are producing through Hybrid banner, and Peter Sullivan is co-producing.
Val Kilmer has been involved in the Wyatt Earp story once before, playing Doc Holliday in Tombstone. He earlier played the title character in the TV movie Billy the Kid, so he is definitely not a newcomer to Western.
The storyline will be about a journalist interviewing a senior citizen Earp about his legendary days as a marshal in the Wild West and they’ll show the story about his rounding up a posse to find the outlaw that mistakenly killed the woman he loved.

One of Val Kilmer's most famous roles was as Doc Holliday opposite Kurt Russell's Wyatt Earp in "Tombstone". Now, Kilmer has scored an upgrade to play Earp himself in the indie western "The First Ride of Wyatt Earp" reports Variety.
Based on a true story, the film follows an elderly Earp sitting down with a reporter to reflect on the ride that made him a legend, when the young marshal rounded up a posse to track down the outlaw who mistakenly murdered the woman he loved.
Also in the cast are Matt Dallas as Bat Masterson, Wilson Bethel as Doc Holliday, Diana DeGarmo as the younger Earp's love interest, Daniel Booko as Spike Kennedy, along with Trace Adkins, Shawn Roberts, Stephen Grayhm, Scott Whyte and Levi Fiehler in supporting roles.
Mike Feifer directs from a script by Darren Benjamin Shepherd while Barry Barnholtz and Jeffrey Schenck are producing.

This week on DVD and Blu-ray I get to re-watch one of the best TV shows of the last decade, see below:

Created by: J. J. Abrams
Starring: Matthew Fox, Naveen Andrews, Jorge Garcia, Josh Hollaway, Daniel Day Kim, Yunjin Kim, Evangeline Lilly, Terry O’Quinn, Emile De Ravin, Michael Emerson, Dominic Monaghan & Henry Ian Cusick
Why should you buy this? Because (as I said above) it is one of the greatest TV shows of the past decade. It definitely doesn’t surpass my love for The Wire, but it hits a science-fiction/storytelling high that many one-hour dramas would love to reach. Not only does the show take it’s situation seriously, but it takes the treatment of its characters with such truth that you never feel taken advantage of. Even though I do have a few problems with some...

Okay, new rule: If you're a filmmaker about to shoot yourself a western, and you've gone to all the trouble of scouting locations, assembling a game cast, shelling out for the costumes, and have then gone and rented a digital camera to shoot it on - and you're name isn't Michael Mann - then stop what you're doing and down tools immediately, because you're undermining all your own efforts and fundamentally wasting your time. To be fair, there aren't many genres that the crisp, polished sheen of Dv will just out-and-out ruin, but the western is certainly one of them.

Brittany Murphy's final film has been granted a release date. "Abandoned," the psychological thriller she starred in with Dean Cain, will be hitting theaters in the summer.
The film was Murphy's final completed project before she unfortunately passed away in December.
Producers Jeffrey Schenck and Barry Barnholtz said in a joint statement, "Brittany will be deeply missed by everyone who worked on Abandoned. The film is a taut thriller which portrays Brittany's character is smart and tough - and that's how we all want to remember her."
Anchor Bay Entertainment President Bill Clark added, "Releasing this young actress' last film is both an honor and bittersweet. It was important to Anchor Bay that the timing of this release be right, because we're sensitive to such a tragic loss. However, we also recognize that Brittany's fans will want to see her amazing work."...

Murphy's Last Film Set For Summer Release
The last film tragic actress Brittany Murphy made before her death is set for release this summer.
The Clueless star passed away on 20 December after suffering a cardiac arrest at her Hollywood Hills home.
She finished shooting psychological thriller Abandoned in June last year with co-stars Dean Cain and Mimi Rogers - in which she plays a woman who receives a ransom demand after her boyfriend mysteriously disappears.
Distribution company Anchor Bay Entertainment has now bought the rights to the film for a North American release, bringing Murphy back to the big screen months after her death.
A statement from producers Jeffrey Schenck and Barry Barnholtz reads: "Brittany will be deeply missed by everyone who worked on Abandoned. The film is a taut thriller which portrays Brittany's character as smart and tough - and that's how we all want to remember her."
Earlier this month, the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office ruled Murphy's death was accidental, and was caused by pneumonia, with contributing factors of anaemia and "multiple drug intoxication".
