She also starred in a few films of the 1930's (including as Joan of Arc in the opulent period drama Das Mädchen Johanna (1935)). Extensive stage experience, including at the Deutschen Theater in Berlin, the Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and the Burgtheater and Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna.
