Marking her first new song in six years, “Young Lion” is a heartfelt tribute to Sade’s trans son, Izaak, celebrating who he is with loving lyrics like, “Run down the hills of your dreams/ Arms open wide, feel the light/ Shine like a sun.” Accordingly, the new music video features footage of Sade and Izaak during Izaak’s youth, eventually cutting to modern-day footage of the two together. TRAИƧA: Selects, a collection of five tracks from the forthcoming compilation concept album, TRAИƧA, has arrived, featuring new songs from Sade Adu (her first in six years), L’Rain, André 3000, and more.

Released via the activist and music production non-profit Red Hot, TRAИƧA will be a musical celebration of trans and non-binary people, featuring over 100 artists. Sade’s contribution, a track titled “Young Lion,” arrives as a loving composition for her son, Izaak, a trans man. Stream it below.

Strange Darling is gaining a whole new fan base since its streaming release, and the film's ending is so much darker after hearing about this tragic fan theory. Despite Strange Darling being one of the most fun thrillers of 2024, the film is incredibly dark and violent, with it centering around murders and other upsetting topics. However, this fan theory posits that Strange Darling was setting up an even darker fate for Willa Fitzgerald's The Lady, with her death at the end of the film stopping the movie from taking the character down an even more tragic past.

It’s a sunny day in July, and the scene inside Gary’s Electric, a Brooklyn recording studio, is just as bright. Half a dozen musicians who all contributed to the upcoming compilation album Transa — an expansive celebration of trans people put together by the longtime music and healthcare nonprofit Red Hot Organization — are meeting each other here for the first time and immediately finding common ground. Some of the artists in the big room are trans; others are allies. The overall vibe is one of community.

“Strange Darling” (2024) is one of those films where the less you know, the better. Instead of learning anything specific about its plot, let’s look at some of its other details. Right before the film begins, the filmmaker tells us it is shot entirely on a 35 mm film. Those who appreciate this style have another reason to look forward to it. Besides, these days, it is much costlier to shoot on film than on digital especially if you need to go through several takes.

The decision to shoot on film comes with caveats. Especially in an indie production, the entire crew must aim for precision in the fewest takes. Considering all the long takes and elaborate tracking shots in “Strange Darling,” it deserves even more praise. Beyond its storytelling approach, the film impresses us with Jt Mollner’s direction and Willa Fitzgerald’s brilliant central performance.

There aren't many songs in the soundtrack of Wolfs, but the ones that do appear in the film pack quite a punch. Even though George Clooney and Brad Pitt's characters in Wolfs are never named, they have quite a bit of personality. That shines through in a few key ways, from how they both approach their jobs as fixers to the way they interact with one another and the rest of the cast of Wolfs, and it becomes most apparent at the end of Wolfs, when the fixers finally learn to let each other in.

Clooney's character gets to show off his own personality a bit more than Pitt's does, and that often came in the form of music. There are a few scenes where Margaret's Man has music playing on the radio, and those songs hint at who he really is. There are also a few...

Billie Eilish is just going with the flow of life — even if it might hurt in the end. On Friday, the musician released the video for “Birds of a Feather,” which watches the singer calmly dragged through an office building as she sings about her overtaking feelings.

Plot: Two top-level fixers (Brad Pitt and George Clooney) with underworld connections must overcome their rivalry when a job goes awry.

Review: Wolfs is getting a curiously unceremonious release, considering the talent involved. There was a time when Brad Pitt and George Clooney doing a buddy action movie together would have been an event. And the movie’s good to boot! Yet, Wolfs, which comes from director Jon Watts, who made the Tom Holland Spider-Man Trilogy for the MCU, I only got a quiet one-week theatrical run before its debut on Apple TV Plus on September 27th. It’s playing on precisely one screen here in Montreal and was not screened for critics.

So, what’s going on here? Probably, Apple is still licking its wounds from the embarrassing failure of their mega-budget movies, Argylle and Fly Me To The Moon, which, despite huge casts, cratered at the box office.

Jt Mollner's "Strange Darling" lives up to its title as dolled-up sleaze (the make-up being 35mm film). Half-erotic thriller and half slasher, it's a 21st century "Texas Chain Saw Massacre" structured like "Pulp Fiction." The film plays with you by taking a cut-and-dry premise and experimenting with how far it can twist. The result, which never breaks, is one of 2024's best horror films. Brad Pitt and girlfriend Ines De Ramon make their official public debut as a couple at the premiere of his new movie Wolfs at the 2024 Venice Film Festival on Sunday (September 1) in Venice, Italy.

Continuing their 23-year onscreen collaboration, George Clooney and Brad Pitt brought their latest co-starring venture to the Venice Film Festival today as Wolfs world premiered out of competition. The premiere itself was delayed by more than 30 minutes as fans crowded into Venice’s Sala Grande in an attempt to catch a glimpse at Pitt and Clooney. Until now, almost everything the public has heard about this magnificent slasher deconstruction was an intentional and ingenious misdirect. From its opaque title to its overly slick poster, this blood-soaked Trojan horse is rarely what you would expect. That’s true even and especially when it’s riffing on iconic tropes.

An excruciating chase film, a terrifying puzzle-box whodunit, and a testament to romanticizing even the darkest cinema in glowing 35mm, “Strange Darling” is an outright triumph. That much you can know now, although the following review treads very carefully to avoid spoilers.

Jt Mollner’s romantic thriller Strange Darling is the type of movie that is best experienced knowing as little as possible. In fact, you probably shouldn’t even be reading this review. Take it from us: it’s a good movie — a lean, entertaining 96-minute thriller. Go watch it. But if you need more convincing as to why Strange Darling is one of this year’s finest indie gems, we’ll oblige.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of one of the greatest comedies ever made — and the greatest comedy to feature weaponized Sade records — San Diego Comic-Con is currently hosting an “immersive pop-up experience” that recreates Shaun of the Dead’s Winchester Tavern, the pub where Shaun and his buddies attempt to hole up until the zombie apocalypse blows over.

Judging from photos of the event, the recreation isn’t totally convincing. Sure, there is a familiar bar, a pool table and a limp zombie body hanging out of a jukebox, but it doesn’t really look that much like the pub in the movie. And while they’re selling special Shaun of Dead-themed beer, the faux-pub doesn’t actually have a liquor license, so it can’t be consumed on the premises.
