- Nate Ruegger is a writer & director of folk horror movies.
Sharing a birthday with Edgar Allen Poe, Nate Ruegger was born into horror. His first memory was hiding behind his fingers while watching Ghostbusters. His bedtime stories were Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. His family movie nights were Hitchcock double features. At an early age, he had the good fortune to work for Steven Spielberg - and after that, there was no turning back.
Nate's passion for writing & directing folk horror took him to Dartmouth College, USC's School of Cinematic Arts, and the festival circuit with the "Trust Me" short (reviewed by Bloody Disgusting as "nightmare fuel") while garnering acclaim along the way - such as Nicholl Fellowship quarter-finalist and a nomination for Best Director at Nightmares Film Festival.
Nate is in development on his feature debut based on the viral folk horror short "Trust Me" with over 1 million views across Facebook and YouTube.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Nate Ruegger
