Sue Rock is a native Texan and began her theatrical career at Marietta
Marich's Main Street Theater in Houston at age 7. She became a Company
Member of Houston's legendary musical theater venue, Studio VII, at the
age of 10. Under the direction of theater owner, artistic director and
mentor, Chris "Momma Bear" Wilson, she became seriously engaged with
the craft of acting. Later, she studied drama at The University of
Houston. In the early 1990's she went to Los Angeles to study with Eric
Morris and D.W. Brown, then returned to Texas and continued to work on
her craft with C.C. Courtney and Gary Chason. She worked on a long list
of cutting edge, experimental, underground films in the 1980's and
1990's. In 2004 she moved to Austin, Texas and became a managing
partner of South Austin Pictures, a film company dedicated to making
fiercely independent films that explored the human condition in
alternative ways. She now resides in Dallas, Texas and continues to
work as a writer, producer and actress in film, television and theater.
She is a member of SAG-AFTRA and Woman in Film.
