On the wave of democratic changes, Janusz Rewinski tried his hand at politics. In the early 1990s, he founded the "Beer Scouts" association (the name of one of the TV programs), on the basis of which the Polish Party of Beer Friends was founded. In the 1991 parliamentary elections, he was elected a member of parliament of the first term from this party's list .

In 2011, he took part in an advertising campaign for the Wilkinson brand, for which he shaved his characteristic beard. The Wilkinson brand organized the "all of Poland shaves Siara" campaign, which was part of the advertising campaign for the new razor. The company encouraged the actor's fans to support the campaign on the Facebook social networking site. As a result, 40 thousand people persuaded Janusz Rewinski to shave his beard. The action was risky, after all, the actor had not shaved for 30 years and admitted that he no longer remembered what he looked like without beard. When it was all over, the actor admitted that his image had softened and become more refined.

He lived in the village of Nowodwór near Minsk Mazowiecki, where he became the owner of a farm.

On 12 hectares of land I have a forest, fish ponds, meadows and pastures . I raise four horses, ten sheep, four goats, chickens and ducks. I mow the meadows, dry hay, cut down branches, and secure fuel - wood for the winter. If I didn't engage in farming from morning to night, to which I condemned myself, I would probably go crazy or something bad would happen to me - he said in an interview from years ago.

Janusz Rewinski was associated with the cabaret scene for years - during his studies he performed in "Spotkania z Ballada" by Wieslaw Dymny, as well as in Piwnica pod Baranami in Krakow. After his debut in Poznan, he joined the legendary Kabaret Tey where he performed, among others, Zenon Laskowik and Bohdan Smolen.

He gained popularity thanks to his performances in Olga Lipinska's Cabaret , in which he played the role of "Misek", a thick-skinned theater director.

After many years of absence, Janusz Rewinski appeared in 2023 on YouTube. In a conversation with Eva Szykowna and Piotr Zwiefka, he revealed that he leads a lonely life and his phone "sometimes doesn't answer at all.".

On the silver screen, viewers associated him primarily with the daring portrayal of Stefan "Siara" Siarzewski . Quotes from the figure of a gangster rivaling senator Ferdynand Lipski became annals of history.

In an interview in 2023 he said: "As time passes, I feel less and less need to contact people, friends and strangers. I'm not looking for new acquaintances. I guess I'm a loner now. I feel very good on my own.".

He served as president of Centrum Komputerowe Bonair USA (1994-1995), and was also a member of the management board of Unitra Multimedia (1995-1996). Later he was engaged in agriculture and animal breeding.

In 2010 he was awarded the silver and in 2016 the gold medal "Gloria Artis for Merit to Culture".

At the end of the 1990s, Janusz Rewinski co-created, together with Krzysztof Piasecki, the satirical program "Ale Plama", where they commented on the events of the past week. At the end of the broadcast in 2003, the production received the Wiktor Award, but shortly after the gala it was decided to take it off the air. Then the satirist withdrew from show business and moved to the countryside near Minsk Mazowiecki.

He graduated from the Technical Secondary School of Aircraft Engine Construction in Wroclaw, and then in 1972 he studied at the Acting Department of the State Drama School in Krakow .

In later years, he supported Law and Justice - first he supported Jaroslaw Kaczynski in the 2010 presidential election, and five years later Andrzej Duda . Before the elections to the Sejm and Senate, he appeared in a PiS election spot.
