This post contains spoilers for the season 4 premiere of "Star Trek: Lower Decks."
The first episode of the fourth season of "Star Trek: Lower Decks," called "Twovix," plunges Trekkies straight into a cauldron of "Star Trek: Voyager" references. It's as if the writers had been saving up all their "Voyager" jokes and, golly, just couldn't stand holding back any longer. Fans of Captain Janeway and her famous, decades-old vessel will have a bloody field day spotting all the references to particular 1990s episodes, and seeing the hallways and bridge of the U.S.S. Voyager realized in animation will certainly provide a thrill. The makers of "Lower Decks" even threw in a few notable notes from Jerry Goldsmith's orchestral theme song, and cast "Voyager" actor Ethan Phillips in a notable supporting role. Those "Voyager" fans are of an intrepid class.
Even the plot of "Twovix" is a spiritual sequel...

Actor Collapses On Stage During Death Scene
An actor collapsed on stage in New York on Saturday as he portrayed the death of legendary psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud.
Martin Rayner plays the title role in an Off-Broadway production of Freud's Last Session, which dramatises a fictional meeting between the psychologist and famed author C. S. Lewis.
But Rayner's turn in Saturday's matinee performance at Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater was cut short when he lost consciousness during a crucial death scene. The audience didn't realise Rayner was no longer acting until his co-star Mark H. Dold asked if there was a doctor in the house, according to the New York Times.
Rayner, who has appeared in TV shows such as Frasier and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, was admitted to hospital for treatment, although no details about his condition have been given.
Carolyn Rossi Copeland, one of the play's producers, says, "(It was) very much art imitating life."...

"Freud's Last Session" will end its limited engagement at the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater on Nov. 28, producers announced today. A previous booking at the venue has forced the Off-Broadway debut of "Freud" to come to an end. Written by Mark St. Germain, the World War II-era play examines the relationship between Sigmund Freud (Martin Rayner) and C.S. Lewis (Mark H. Dold), following the two men as they debate the world's deepest issues. "Session" made its world premiere at Massachusetts' Barrington Stage Company last year, where it enjoyed two encore runs. It is currently Barrington's longest running show.
