Aleksandr Razumnyj was born on 1 May 1891 in Yelizavetgrad, Kherson Governorate, Russian Empire [now Kirovohrad, Ukraine]. He was a director and writer, known for Beloe i chernoe (1919), Tyazheliye gody (1925) and Zhizn i smert leytenanta Shmidta (1917). He died on 16 November 1972 in Moscow, RSFSR, USSR [now Russia].
