Jay Rath is a cartoonist and writer, known for his contributions to The Onion and MAD magazine. He's also worked in indie film and theater, notably his world premiere of Orson Welles' only stage play, "Bright Lucifer." Besides special projects for The Onion, as co founder of The Radio Pirates sketch comedy troupe he's created comedy-variety series and countless sketches for public radio. Rath is a recipient of the Kennedy Center's Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
In his free time he researches and blogs about Los Angeles' earliest movie studios, in the Edendale district (today Echo Park and Silver Lake).
