“God damn it!”
Whitney Siegel is not pleased. Already today, Emma Stone’s frustrated entrepreneur/”artist” has lost a prospective buyer, wasted precious production hours on people that won’t be included in the show, and witnessed her so-called friend make fun of her on camera, in a home Whitney designed, with the entire crew watching. Now, the fake couple Whitney is paying to pretend like they’re excited about purchasing her passive house is saying they don’t want to fake everything. Rather than be paired up with a more camera-friendly stranger, the long-haired “actor” would prefer to walk through the home with his real-life, less aesthetically pleasing partner.
That’s the last straw for Whitney, and before walking outside, plastering on her semi-permanent smile, and facing the source of her irritation, she lets out a rare expletive. “God damn it!” she shouts. Is the...

The Israeli spy thriller Tehran is the second TV series to be granted a waiver to continue filming amid the recently launched SAG-AFTRA strike.
As reported by our sister site Deadline, Tehran has about a week left to film on Season 3, in Israel. And whereas the Jesus drama The Chosen (now airing Stateside on The CW) scored its own waiver this week by being a truly independent, crowdfunded production not tied to any of the big, AMPTP companies, Tehran has ties to Apple, which streams the drama on Apple TV+.

The Pitch: How terrible it would be to be married to a man like Peter Griffin or the "King of Queens" himself, Doug Heffernan? That's what Valerie Armstrong set out to answer in her dramedy, "Kevin Can F*** Himself."
Annie Murphy plays Allison McRoberts, née Devine, a desperately unhappy woman in Worcester, Massachusetts. She works at a liquor store alongside her aunt Diane (Jamie Denbo) and is stuck in her dead-end marriage to Kevin (Eric Peterson). On top of being a stereotypical Masshole (he loves the Patriots and Dunkin more than his wife), Kevin is selfish, lazy, and prone to harebrained schemes. And yet, the universe itself loves him.

It’s been long enough since Sarah Shook & the Disarmers first cut the tracks for their new album Nightroamer that they’ve had to re-learn how to play them. Recorded just a hair ahead of the pandemic in 2020, the album’s release was delayed until last week, so trying those songs out as a band after two years has put their collective memory to the test.
“It definitely feels new in the sense that we’ve been rehearsing this week,” Shook says, laughing, “and it’s just like, ‘Oh my God.

Behind the well-earned strong sentiment in the title, Valerie Armstrong's "Kevin Can F**k Himself" is an extremely thoughtful (and funny) piece of contemporary television. The series takes respectful but incisive aim at the conventions of the old sitcoms of yore, and in particular the archaic trope of the schlubby man-child husband with the gorgeous, oddly subservient wife. Instead, we're presented with a story of female friendship and revenge: Allison McRoberts (an electric Annie Murphy) is stuck in a relationship with her deadbeat idiot husband Kevin (a hilarious Eric Peterson). As her friendship with neighbor Patty O'Connor grows (Mary Hollis Inboden rules here),...

As famous as Mark Hamill is for playing Luke Skywalker in the “Star Wars” franchise (he’s even a Primetime Emmy contender this year for playing him in “The Mandalorian”), he’s just as accomplished as a voice actor. This year he’s nominated for Best Performer in a Preschool Animated Program at the Daytime Emmys for his work in “Elena of Avalor.” This is only his third nomination to date. Can he finally win?

Season One of Kevin Can F Himself is underway on AMC, and it is a precious gem of a show. The show is unlike anything I’ve ever seen on television, and I love it. The show stars Annie Murphy as Allison (Schitt’s Creek) and Eric Peterson as Allison’s very annoying husband, Kevin. The show follows Allison McRoberts, a sitcom wife who escapes the prerecorded laughs and multi-camera setup famous in many American sitcoms and starts leading her own life. Every time she is away from her husband, the viewers look at what Allison feels more realistically by using a single camera setup. For everybody who has ever watched a sitcom show and thought that the characters were annoying and fake, this show is for you. Just the concept alone was enough to keep me watching. The show was created by Valerie Armstrong, who also serves as an executive producer.

Emmy Award-winning “Schitt’s Creek” star Annie Murphy is a little less Alexis in her latest lead role for AMC and a little more generic sitcom wife gone off-script (and sanguinary). During its Television Critics’ Association Winter Press Tour, the network released a trailer for the genre-busting dark dramedy “Kevin Can F**k Himself,” premiering sometime this summer.
As evidenced in the trailer, the series breaks television conventions by probing the secret life of the sitcom housewife archetype and asking what the world would look like through her eyes when she snaps and takes the lead in her own life. Alternating between single-camera realism and multi-camera comedy, the formats will inform one another as we see Annie Murphy’s character (Allison) realize that what she really wants is to stop playing perfect and to start killing her husband.

Kevin Can F**k Himself is not playing around. AMC just released a new trailer for its upcoming dramedy, an ambitious genre-bending show that has been in the works since 2017—right around the time CBS' Kevin Can Wait killed off the wife character, played by Erinn Hayes. If you were hoping to see a sitcom wife get some cathartic revenge on her dopey sitcom husband, it looks like that's exactly what we're in for. Schitt's Creek alum Annie Murphy plays Allison, the long-suffering wife of Kevin (Eric Peterson). He's a man who only appears to exist in multi-cam sitcom land, where he jokes about her periods and demands drink refills. The trailer shows...

Annie Murphy is a disgruntled sitcom wife tired of being the butt of the joke in the first trailer for AMC’s forthcoming series “Kevin Can F**k Himself.”
The experimental series from creator Valerie Armstrong toggles between multi-cam comedy and single-camera drama to “imagine what happens when the sitcom wife escapes her confines and takes the lead in her own life,” per AMC’s description.
The title of the series is a nod to CBS’s now-canceled “Kevin Can Wait,” which unceremoniously killed off Erin Hayes’ character to give star Kevin James a new on-screen wife when the writers ran out of ideas. (Hayes was replaced by James’ former “King of Queens” co-star Leah Remini.)
In an interview with Vanity Fair on Thursday, Murphy expressed frustration at the “sexism and misogyny and racism and homophobia and bigotry” that gets overlooked in the fast-paced sitcom format.

On paper, "Kirstie" sounded like a coup for TV Land: A Kirstie Alley comeback vehicle that was also a "Cheers" reunion with co-star Rhea Perlman, as well as the TV return of "Seinfeld" legend Michael Richards.
Unfortunately, much of the sitcom's first season was met with a critical "meh." All the comedic talent in the world can't make up for subpar material, it would seem. But where did you land on the series?
Did you enjoy watching Maddie (Alley) reconnect with her long-lost son Arlo (Eric Peterson) while maintaining her Broadway lifestyle? Did Perlman and Richards as her assistant and chauffeur, respectively, inspire hilarity in your household? Are you hoping for a Season 2?
