- Marilyn Sue Perry was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and ventured to New York City after graduating among the top of her from The Visual & Performing Arts High School. There she attended and graduated from City College of New York, with honors and BFA. While living on the East Coast, she created and starred in a one-woman cabaret show in which displayed her talents as a versatile vocalist, and it performed at many popular nightclubs. Perry is also a former Apollo Amateur Night Winner who has appeared in several Off-Broadway productions at La Mama ETC. She has toured nationally with two gospel groups of which she is a founding member of both, The Paradise Singers and Faith. She is an active member of the Faithful Central Bible Church and sings with their choir, "One Voice". Perhaps, one of her greatest achievements was performing as the only soloist with The Hofstra University Jazz Big Band while attending that school.
Ms. Perry received certification from the Arts for All program in June 2007, which focuses on the State of California content standards and is currently teaching the craft of acting to school age children living in Los Angeles County area with the STAR program. She was a charter teaching artist for Victory over Violence, which is a National campaign with the White House under the auspices of The Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival. Marilyn Sue has also been a teaching artist in the New York and St. Louis areas as well.
Perry is working on a one-woman (stand-up) musical comedy show which is under development and soon will be appearing at a number of well-known comedy clubs in the Los Angeles area.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Daniel Rojo
