Started in music from a very early age, Chichi Peralta began showing interest in percussion at the early age of four. In his years of being a young adult, he was part of famous Dominican tropical bands. He also produced and arranged many songs and jingles of the time. Until he decided to start his own project called "Chichi Peralta & Son Familia", in which he gave his own vision of Dominican and world music.
In 2001, his acclaimed album "De Vuelta Al Barrio" (in which he rescued many aspects of Dominican culture and featured the London Symphony Orchestra) wins the Latin Grammy Award for Best Merengue Album. As time passed, he received many other nominations, awards and recognition for his work. He was named Goodwill Ambassador of the Dominican Republic in 2007.
Chichi Peralta worked in a handful of uncredited audiovisual projects in the music department. One of his early composing works include the soundtrack for the documentary "El Poder Del Jefe III" by Dominican director René Fortunato. Since then, he has worked in the composing and sound mixing/editing of many other documentaries and movies, including some of the CCN's series of documentaries "Orgullo De Mi Tierra". In 2017, the score for the movie "Camino a Higüey" earned him an important recognition at Premios Platino, as Best Original Music. Chichi Peralta is known for being a versatile artist, he has and still produces for other artists and for himself. He also has produced, directed and written for film, with his 2011 documentary "Inside Japan" and with the 2006 documentary "Orgullo De Mi Tierra: Descubre Samaná", in which he produced the soundtrack and wrote the script.
