He has played quite a few waiters throughout his career. Some of these waiter characters were memorable even though their screen time was short, in movies such as
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988),
Smiley's People (1982) and
French Connection II (1975). In
The Holcroft Covenant (1985), almost like an in-joke, his character serves a tray of drinks to a whole meeting of people, although he isn't a waiter.
