Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich may have moved on from that franchise, but she stays busy. We’ll soon be seeing her face off with Dave Bautista in her husband Paul W.S. Anderson’s fantasy film In the Lost Lands (a George R. R. Martin adaptation), we recently heard she’ll be working with Rosario Dawson and Alexandra Shipp on the action thriller Midnight, she’s gearing up to work with director Brad Anderson on both the sci-fi film World Breaker and the zombie movie Twilight of the Dead, and now The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that she’s set to star in the Taken-esque action thriller Protector.
Adrian Grunberg, whose credits include Rambo: Last Blood, Get the Gringo, and The Black Demon, will be directing Protector from a screenplay by Bong-Seeb Mun. Filming is expected to take place in New Mexico this winter.

When last seen around these parts, fiery haired actress Tara Cardinal was doing her superhero thang alongside Lou Ferrigno in Liberator. But now she's going back in time for a whole different brand of heroics in The Legend of the Red Reaper...and guess what — she's bringing Uwe Boll along for the ride!
Written and directed by Kristen Barron Stewart, Red Reaper is an action-packed tale filled with witches, demons, war and romance — in other words, everything that makes the world of fantasy go round.
Cardinal stars as the titular Reaper, a warrior born of a witch and destined to save mankind from the return of the exiled demon horde. (No, not the Tea Party. That battle has already been fought and won.) Also appearing are David Mackey, Eliza Swenson, Christian Boeving, Shayne Leighton and Troma founder, eminent bon vivant and madman Lloyd Kaufman.
Red Reaper has been Cardinal's passion project for years.

Legend of the Red Reaper had new life breathed into it after the producers jumped ship along with a large amount of the production budget.
The film, written and directed by Kristen Stewart (no relation to the Twilight actress), had a bumpy ride. It was rewritten, recast and the crew was shaken up. According to the most recent press release, “Houses were foreclosed, some body parts donated to science - but the money was raised to tell a story that I believe in with my heart soul (and some long lost body parts).”
Eventually Uwe Boll came on board as producer.
“Editor after editor jumped ship, holding up the project even further. Finally, Uwe Boll came to the rescue. The project was brought to his attention by lead actress Tara Cardinal, who also appears in two of his other projects, (Zombie Massacre and the Profane Exhibit with Clint Howard). Uwe,...

This story out of the Los Angeles Times doesn't necessarily shock me in terms of its content as much as it sort of surprises me how blatantly they just announce their plans.
I'm sure many of you remember the Red Dawn remake at MGM that has been sitting on the shelf for quite some time now after missing its November 24, 2010 release due to MGM's bankruptcy woes. Well, the film is still sitting there, in the can with an MPAA rating ready to be shown to the public. However, there is now a hitch. While the original, 1984 Cold War flick featured a Soviet invasion of the U.S. this new film needed to have a new aggressor and the Chinese substituted for the Soviets. Well, despite issues being raised before only after the film has been completed for about a year do the producers no longer see it as a good...
