- After my death, I will make a rain of roses fall.
- [interview following her Best Actress win at the Venice Film Festival for Full Moon in Paris (1984)] It was a complete surprise because I was hoping for the Golden Lion for Éric Rohmer for his film, but it was so overwhelming for me - it's wonderful. Louise is someone who conveys a lot of emotions in the film - she's someone who's afraid all the time, she's very headstrong and she aspires to a sole love but she ends up scattering her feelings around and that's a bit of a problem. She's between someone she lives with, who's a little bit older than her and a lover and the desire to go out and not completely integrate herself into the structure of a couple. She's a Rohmer character; Rohmer writes his scripts very precisely without a clear idea of the actors; then there comes a second phase when he writes with someone in mind and then it comes together. I also worked with Rohmer for several months on the exterior and interior production design and costumes. For me personally, this is a great reward because it acknowledges a lot of work on the part of the whole team. It's wonderful for Bulle [Bulle Ogier] also - it's a gift I'm offering her just as it was a gift from her to raise me with the idea of cinema. It's a gift for Rohmer also because it was he who gave me a start and this is the third time I've worked with him and suddenly the reward has come.
