- Peggy became a very popular singer and actress in England where she starred in the hit plays Peg O' My Heart and Paddy the Next Best Thing.
- Peggy was the first person to be interviewed on television, appearing on an experimental Baird Televisor at the Ideal Home Exhibition in Southampton, England, 1930.
- In 1920 an obsessed fan sent her a box of chocolates laced with arsenic. She became very ill and her dog died after eating them.
