- Other worksBegan his radio career at BBC Radio Bristol in the eighties. Hosted music/comedy shows on BBC Radio 1 and BBC GLR. Wrote for and hosted 'On The Hour' for BBC Radio 4 (later to become 'The Day Today' on TV) and wrote, produced and starred in 'Blue Jam' on Radio 1, which became 'Jam' on television. He also wrote columns for The Observer newspaper, as a columnist living in the shadow of a suicide he had yet to commit, a spoof of the so-called cancer columns.
