James McCauley was born in the now infamous town of Roswell, New Mexico. His father was a pilot in the Air Force and his mother was an English teacher. After his family left the military, they moved to Connecticut where he attended high school. After graduation he attended SUNY at Purchase, where he became what is affectionately known as "one of the Purchase Mafia".
He has lived in New York since graduating and has been seen in a number of movies. Recently he co-wrote, co-directed, co- produced, and acted in the short film entitled Our Hero (1996), which received a Bronze Award at WorldFest Houston, and was a Finalist in the 18th Annual Telly Awards. He is a co-founder of the production company MCC FILMS.
