Sneak Peek covers from the upcoming Time, Inc., NBC 50th anniversary special celebrating the golden jubilee of the "Sports Illustrated" swimsuit issue, airing February 3, 2014, hosted by Heidi Klum.
The 2-hour show will offer bikini coverage of super models including Kate Upton, Tyra Banks, Christie Brinkley and Marisa Miller.
First published in 1964, Si is credited with making the bikini, invented in 1946, a 'legitimate' piece of apparel.
Through the years Cheryl Tiegs, Christie Brinkley, Paulina Porizkova, Elle Macpherson, Rachel Hunter, Rebecca Romijn, Petra Nemcova, Valeria Mazza, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks and Marisa Miller have been featured on the cover.
Other models within its pages include Cindy Crawford, Stephanie Seymour, Niki Taylor, Angie Everhart, and Naomi Campbell.
The Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition was originally created by Sports Illustrated editor Andre Laguerre to fill the winter months, a typically slow point in the sporting calendar.

Beauty is blossoming in South America. On Sunday, Venezuela became the first nation ever to have repeat winners in the Miss Universe pageant, as Stefania Fernandez took the 2009 title during a live televised event from the Bahamas. The 18-year-old was crowned by her countrywoman Dayana Mendoza, who won in 2008. The first runner-up was Miss Dominican Republic, Ada Aimee De La Cruz. Miss Kosovo, Gona Dragusha, was named second runner-up. Rounding out the top five were Miss Australia, Rachael Finch, and Miss Puerto Rico, Mayra Matos Perez. Miss USA, Kristen Dalton of North Carolina, was eliminated when the top 10 was trimmed to five.
