- Father of Ramona Marquez who plays Karen in BBC1's sitcom, Outnumbered.
- Born to a Spanish father and English mother, who met whilst the latter was on holiday in Spain, he was brought up in Coventry, West Midlands.
- Brother of actor John Marquez with whom he wrote and appeared in the play, 'I Caught My Death in Venice' at the Chichester Festival.
