Mitchell Marchand is an Emmy-nominated writer, actor, comedian, producer with more than two decades of experience working in Hollywood.
Marchand is nominated for his first Emmy this year for his work as Writer on CBS's "John Lewis: Celebrating A Hero" special, hosted by Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry and Brad Pitt.
Marchand has developed a successful career as an accomplished writer/producer credited with a myriad of popular shows, including, The Wayans Bros, BET Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, Comic View, Hell Date and Coming To The Stage, NAACP Image Awards, Lip Sync Battle/Lip Sync Battle Shorties, MTV's Safe Word and NBC's Marlon Show, competition shows NBC's I Can Do That and TBS' The Funniest Wins, and Kids Say the Darndest Things starring Tiffany Haddish.
After years of writing for comedians, in 2009 while serving as Head Writer for Oscar-winning actress Mo'Nique's late night talk show, The Mo'Nique Show, Mitch also began a career as a Stand-up comedian and has performed at such venues as Caroline's, The Comedy Store, The Improv and the Stratosphere in Las Vegas.
Marchand's career has seen him move across the television landscape, producing such projects as the 4 part music series special, "Legends: OWN At The Apollo" (OWN, The Oprah Winfrey Network); Executive Produced Marlon Wayans' 2018 Stand-up special "Woke-ish" for Netflix and has written for both the Academy Awards and the Primetime Emmy Awards, including this year's show in which he's also nominated.
In 2021, Marchand's work can be seen on TBS' Friday Night Vibes starring Tiffany Haddish and Deon Cole, and the anticipated second season of the Netflix hit series "The Upshaws" starring Wanda Sykes and Mike Epps and Kim Fields.
