- His career started after a city wide search for the next star on the television show "Fame". Scotch was number 870 in over 4,800 in a line that wrapped around the studio block. He shaved his mustache while waiting in line after hearing men who had them were being cut on site. He made it to the very last call and was one of only five people. Though not chosen he made it to the final call and was one of the last five actors considered for the two open spots. One of the spots went to Janet Jackson

- Acting as co-producer, co-arranger and executive producer, Scotch just completed his first album of some known and some not-so-known songs. The album is titled "Standard Scotch" and is available at his Web site.
- While living in San Diego, he fronted a Seattle-style grunge band called Manchild.
- Scotch wrote and performed the song "Lost Till I found You," which plays over the closing credits of the Fox release Firehouse Dog (2007), in which he also stars.
- Scotch is the 6th of 7 children born in the northern part of Maine in a city called Limestone in Aroostook County. He is the youngest of four boys and has three sisters.
