Fair-haired Paramount starlet of the late 1930's and early 40's, the daughter of a Chicago investment broker. Noted chiefly as the female lead of Dr. Cyclops (1940).
Lost her life in a house fire. Interred at Forest Lawn.
Paramount changed her given name Shirley to Janice, expressing that there were too many actresses named Shirley in Hollywood.
