Was a Soviet and Russian film, television, theatre and voice actor for 5 decades. He played and voiced over 160 characters. Was Russian voice for Andy Linden's Mundungus Fletcher in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010).

Had a daughter named Ekaterina Lenkova (b.1969) with his now widowed wife Elena Lenkova and a grandson named Philipp.

(April 21, 2014) Died in Moscow after severe and prolonged illness at the age of 70.
