This Montreal-born actor holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the Actors Studio Drama School in New York City and is a law graduate from the University of Montreal. A longstanding community organizer, he is co-founder of the Southeast Asian Cultural Heritage Society (SEACHS) in Vancouver.
His ventures in Asia include joining the prestigious cast of Pearls of the Far East (Ngoc Vien Dong) by Cuong Ngo, a milestone in Vietnamese art-house cinema, in 2010. In Vietnam, the land of his ancestors, he has garnered legions of young fans, seen by millions in the "wuxia" epic Lady Assassin 3D (My Nhan Ke), in 2013. Portraying General Nhuan opposite Jennifer Lawrence and Peter Dinklage in X-Men: Days of Future Past in 2014, his exposure increased tenfold. More recently, he appeared alongside Zac Efron and Russell Crowe in "The Greatest Beer Run Ever" by Oscar-winning director, Peter Farrelly.
A trained opera singer, Thai-Hoa finds most of his artistic fulfillment in cultural and community service. His interests include meditation, while his past service in the Canadian Army Reserve reflects concurrent aspects of his personality.
His parents came to Canada as international students in the 1960's, during Quebec's "Révolution tranquille". Raised in a community united by the perennial belief that you are Vietnamese no matter where you are born, he spoke his mother-tongue, yet grew to become a proud Québécois. Until this day, Thai-Hoa strives to embody the "best" of East and West.
