Singer, songwriter, and athlete Frank Larrabee hails from Albuquerque, New Mexico. A gifted athlete, Larrabee was all-conference in high school baseball and basketball who attended the University of Albuquerque on a basketball scholarship. Moreover, Frank was also a talented singer/songwriter who was a popular fixture on the local Albuquerque music scene. It was because of this latter situation that Larrabee wound up appearing as himself singing the catchy tune "California Lady" in the gloriously ghastly creature feature clunker Track of the Moon Beast (1976). From 1976 to 1990 Frank hosted concert in the park events on Father's Day in Corrales, New Mexico to raise money for the local library that has a wing named in his honor. In addition, Larrabee also owns his own construction company, raises Appaloosa horses with his wife (he's a former president on the Board of Directors of the Appaloosa Horse Club), and has even coached high school basketball.
