Hillbilly Elegy features a star-studded cast including Amy Adams and Glenn Close. The main actors in Hillbilly Elegy have all been in many great projects over the years; The cast of Hillbilly Elegy has plenty of other movies that received much better reviews than the 2020 film.
Ron Howard's film Hillbilly Elegy has faced some controversy since its release in 2020, but its star-studded cast remains notable, and their other movies are certainly worth the watch. Hillbilly Elegy follows the true story of J.D. Vance's Appalachian childhood, alongside his wise grandmother and his addicted mother. This is Day 112 of the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Striking actors in New York City hit the picket lines in extra layering Thursday with the weather turning colder and their union’s strike against studios and streamers extending into its fifth calendar month.
Amid reports of progress in the talks out west between SAG-AFTRA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, picketers spotted Thursday outside AMPTP member company offices in Manhattan included Annabella Sciorra, Terry Kinney, Kelly AuCoin, Glenn Fleshler, Stephen Kunken, Carrie Gibson, Michael Cyril Creighton, Frank C. Williams and Stephanie D’Abruzzo.
Actors said that they are doing their best to balance hopes for a settlement — which have been dashed before — with managed expectations while most continue to go without paying work.
“It’s a fine line,” Gibson, a SAG-AFTRA strike captain who had a recurring role on Max’s Barry, told Deadline at a picket outside NBCUniversal headquarters at Rockefeller Center.

After earning an Emmy nom — her first — for her guest turn in the fourth season of “The Handmaid’s Tale” in 2021, Mckenna Grace is now eligible again in Best Drama Guest Actress for the Hulu drama’s fifth installment. And if she’s shortlisted, she will continue one of the show’s longest-running streaks.
“Handmaid’s” has fielded at least one Best Drama Guest Actress nominee each time it was eligible in the category. Its streak began with Alexis Bledel, who was the show’s sole representative and prevailed for its debut season in 2017. The following year, it tripled its Season 1 total, producing nominations for Kelly Jenrette, Cherry Jones and the eventual champ, Samira Wiley, for its second season. Although the dystopian drama wasn’t eligible for a full season in 2019, it was allowed to enter the final three outings of Season 2 as orphaned episodes that year and thereby pocketed another...

A Spy Among Friends is based on Ben Macintyre's best-selling book of the same name, which examines the true story of the most infamous double agent in the Cold War. The limited series, adapted for television by Alexander Cary, examines the friendship between Nicholas Elliot and Kim Philby both before and after Philby's status as a Kgb double agent was revealed. Following this revelation, Elliot met with Philby to gather information, but the double agent escaped to the Soviet Union.
Elliot was closely scrutinized after this by American and British intelligence agencies. While under investigation, Elliot attempts to discover any other Kgb moles that are hiding in the British government. A Spy Among Friends features an impressive cast led by Guy Pearce, Damian Lewis, Anna Maxwell Martin, Adrian Edmondson, Stephen Kunken, Nicholas Rowe, and Anastasia Hille.

Plot: Based on the New York Times best-selling book written by Ben Macintyre, this six-episode limited series dramatizes the true story of two British spies and lifelong friends, Nicholas Elliott and Kim Philby. The latter became the most notorious British defector and Soviet double agent in history. Philby’s deeply personal betrayal, uncovered at the height of the Cold War, resulted in the gutting of British and American intelligence.
Review: The story of Kim Philby, one of the most notorious spies discovered during the Cold War, has been told many times over in both books and documentaries. While speculative stories and alternate histories abound, Philby’s tale has inspired John Le Carre’s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and the Matt Damon film The Good Shepherd. While these stories and adaptations have been interesting, the true story is fascinating in its own right. The new limited series A Spy Among Friends...

"He has lied to you, and he has used you, when are you going to accept that?" MGM+ has debuted the full official trailer for the British spy series titled A Spy Among Friends, arriving for streaming in March. The service formerly known as Epix has re-branded as MGM+, with a big line-up set to launch this spring. "The epic true story of Kim Philby, the Cold War's most infamous spy, from the 'master storyteller' and author of Prisoners of the Castle." It's an adaptation of the book of the same name. The UK mini-series stars the very talented actors Guy Pearce and Damian Lewis as Nicholas Elliott and Kim Philby, real-life 1960s British spies who, despite their opposing allegiances, developed a life-long friendship. It reminds me of the other British spy film The Courier (aka Ironbark) from a few years ago - also about two spies who were friends.

Warning: contains spoilers for The Handmaid’s Tale season 5 episode 6 ‘Together’.
Road trip! There was a brief moment in The Handmaid’s Tale’s first season, right after Fred Waterford and the other Commanders were blown up in that Red Center explosion, when this story move felt inevitable. June and Serena: two enemies cast together against a common foe, Thelma and Louise-ing it on the run from Gilead together in the ultimate act of female solidarity.
It never happened because, like all believers in the just-world fallacy, Serena’s always felt righteously insulated from adversity. She’s glimpsed Gilead’s horrors – when a Handmaid with a cut-out tongue sat at her kitchen table, when teenage Eden was drowned, when Fred beat her with a belt, and when she lost a finger – but she never faced them front-on. Now, thanks to the Wheelers, Serena has experienced Gilead from the factory floor, and surprise surprise,...

[This story contains spoiler’s from the fourth episode of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale season five, “Dear Offred.”]
Last season was a big one for The Handmaid’s Tale’s Janine.
Not only did the fiery handmaid played by Madeline Brewer survive a near-death explosion, but she also rose from the ashes as a leader in her post-Gilead life and was given a long-awaited backstory episode to showcase her inner strength. Her journey, however, was all the more heartbreaking when, by season’s end, she was captured and returned to handmaid headquarters at the Red Center, where she decided to obey Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) and fall back in line with Gilead’s totalitarian society rules in order to survive.
When chatting about that decision, Brewer had shared that her hope for her character moving forward was that Janine would find her purpose. Then, with the show’s season five return, she found it.

“The Handmaid’s Tale” is somehow on its fifth season, and for not one moment since it premiered in 2017 has this show given Janine (Madeline Brewer) a moment of peace.
Season 5, Episode 4, “Dear Offred” puts Janine in an impossible position with painfully sinister implications. After being poisoned by Esther (McKenna Grace) in the previous episode, she recovers and appears to be more precious than ever to Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd). Lydia, ever the pious manipulator, entreats the fragile Janine to be her eyes and ears among the handmaids moving forward.
“Will you watch over them and tell me when any of them are struggling?,” Lydia asks. She claims to want to do things differently, to act with compassion, but Janine is skeptical.
“If I do, you’ll just do something horrible,” she replies.
But she doesn’t say much more, and when she returns to the company of her fellow handmaids,...

“Everything tastes better when Fred is dead.”
June Osborne speaks those words while sitting at a diner and having a celebratory meal, to the tune of Dolly Parton’s “Gettin’ Happy.” The irony of the uplifting vibe is that Elisabeth Moss’ starring character — who is in a state of shock after leading the violent group murder of her former commander and abuser, Gilead leader Fred Waterford (Joseph Fiennes), as is evidenced by his dried blood remaining caked on her face and hands — only finds a fleeting moment of happiness while in the eatery with her fellow former handmaids.

Anne Heche has died at age 53 a week after being hospitalized following a car crash in Los Angeles
The family of the mother of two confirmed the sad news to Entertainment Tonight after previously releasing a statement confirming they didn’t expect her to survive her injuries.
In a statement to Et, a rep for Heche said: “Today we lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend. Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact.”
Her rep also explained that Heche is legally dead according to California law, but her heart is still beating as they determine if her organs are viable. Anne was an organ donor.

"I whipped up a kick ass divorce mix playlist for ya." Gravitas Ventures has debuted an official trailer for Before/During/After, an indie drama written by and starring Finnerty Steeves. The film earned good festival buzz taking home Dances With Films' "Industry Choice Award", Greenpoint Film Festival's "Best of the Fest" award, San Diego's "Best Ensemble Cast" honor, Naples' "Programmers Choice Award", and an exclusive drive-in showing at the RiverRun Film Festival. This sharp-witted dramedy studies a middle-aged NYC theatre actress suddenly forced to figure out the kind of person she wants to portray in real life when her marriage comes to an end after she catches her husband cheating. In addition to Steeves, this also stars Jeremy Davidson, John Pankow, Kristine Sutherland, Richard Masur, Michael Emerson, and Deborah Rush. This looks rather amusing and witty, a cathartic film all about figuring out what to do now. Here's the trailer (+ poster...

After winning the Best Drama Guest Actor Emmy for three orphaned Season 2 episodes last year, Bradley Whitford made the switch to the supporting category for the third installment of Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale” with fruitful results. The actor bagged his first three career nominations in this very category for “The West Wing” (2001-03) – triumphing on his first try – which he succeeded with a pair of Best Comedy Guest Actor bids for “Transparent” (2015-16), again winning on the first bid. On his seventh citation, the three-time champ seeks to be blessed with his fourth victory by virtue of his work in his episode submission “Sacrifice,” the season’s 12th and penultimate outing.

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Billions” Season 5, Episode 2, “The Chris Rock Test,” including the ending.]
For a show that’s ostensibly about two morally depraved, power-hungry men locked in a perpetual dick-swinging contest of Shakespearean proportions, this world’s stage hosts a bevy of unconventional secondary characters — and they’re far more than mere players. Like its HBO cousin “Succession,” “Billions” thrives off support from second stringers that run the gamut from ingratiating eccentrics (see Stephen Kunken’s Ari Spyros) to scrappily ambitious women (Condola Rashad’s Kate Sacker). True to form, “Billions” came out swinging with its Season 5 premiere, and the second episode makes use of some of its best supporting players to set the chess board for yet another scintillating smackdown of a season.
The Showtime drama scored many points when it introduced non-binary sensation Taylor Mason (Asia Kate Dillon) in Season 2, and the writers quickly ramped up the savant trader’s role.

Woody Allen narrates CAFÉ Society, his 47th film and at age 80, his voice is sounding sadly geezerish. Set in the mid-1930’s, CAFÉ Society has a cool period soundtrack, an older man courting a much younger woman, a Jewish family kibitzing around the dinner table, quotable dialog on love and life, and a neurotic Jewish hero channeling a much younger Woody. In other words, all the elements of a great Woody Allen film. It also has Vittorio Storaro’s rapturous cinematography (a Woody first) and a terrific and complex central performance from Jesse Eisenberg. CAFÉ Society is the most romantic Woody since Annie Hall and one of his best.
Leaving his (very) Jewish family back in the Bronx, young Bobby Dorfman (Jesse Eisenberg) heads west to “learn the movie business” from his Uncle Phil (Steve Carell), a bigtime Hollywood talent agent. Phil assigns his captivating, but romantically unavailable, secretary Vonnie...

Set in the 1930s, Woody Allen’s bittersweet romance CAFÉ Society follows Bronx-born Bobby Dorfman (Jesse Eisenberg) to Hollywood, where he falls in love, and back to New York, where he is swept up in the vibrant world of high society nightclub life.
Centering on events in the lives of Bobby’s colorful Bronx family, the film is a glittering valentine to the movie stars, socialites, playboys, debutantes, politicians, and gangsters who epitomized the excitement and glamour of the age.
Bobby’s family features his relentlessly bickering parents Rose (Jeannie Berlin) and Marty (Ken Stott), his casually amoral gangster brother Ben (Corey Stoll); his good-hearted teacher sister Evelyn (Sari Lennick), and her egghead husband Leonard...
