Her father, A. Gene Klein, is a retired U.S. Navy pilot who served in the military with GOP Presidential candidate John McCain, at the time also a pilot. Both were aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal in Southeast Asia on July 29, 1967 when a disastrous fire broke out that killed 134 men.

As a child in Sanford, Florida, lived next door to and was friends with Dana Reeve (then Dana Morosini), who later married Christopher Reeve.

A former swimwear designer, she finished college in Florida with a BA Degree, arrived in Hollywood to design costumes for films and television.

Founded Angel Partners Inc, a Non-Profit Corporation, for the production of PSAs (Public Service Announcements) and Educational Documentaries. In 1997 five of her Public Service Announcements were broadcast worldwide on CNN.
