Chôgorô Kaionji was born on 5 November 1901 in Okuchi, Kagoshima, Japan. He was a writer, known for Heaven and Earth (1990), The Master Spearman (1960) and Haji wo shiru mono (1935). He was married to Tomiko Kunisawa and Kazu Yamakawa. He died on 1 December 1977 in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan.
