- Lindsay Kemp was born on May 3, 1938 in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, England, UK. He was an actor and writer, known for The Wicker Man (1973), Velvet Goldmine (1998) and Pierrot in Turquoise or The Looking Glass Murders (1970). He died on August 25, 2018 in Livorno, Tuscany, Italy.
- Worked with David Bowie during the 1972 Ziggy Stardust tour. He was a choreographer and taught him various performing arts.
- He came to Toronto in the 1980s to stage the plays "Salome" and "Flowers For Algerenon", directing and starring in both. The productions were incredibly surreal and unforgettable, with costumed, made-up dancer/actors working in and around the audience for maximum shock effect.
- Taught dance and movement to Kate Bush at the Collegiate Theatre and then the Dance Centre in Convent Garden.
- Former mentor and lover of David Bowie.
