After all, ever since this movie has made its way to the theatres, it wreaked havoc at the box office and kept the cash registers ringing incomparably. In fact, it’s quite safe to say that it has become the talk of the town for all the right reasons.

Shekhar Kapoor also revealed the stunning cast of his proposed sequel.

Masoom 2 will star the stalwarts from the original Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah, who will be getting together for the first time since the short film Rice Plate in 2007.

And that’s not all. Shekhar reveals that Manoj Bajpayee and Nithya Menen will also star in Masoom 2. For both the national award winners, this will be the first film with Shekhar Kapoor.

Shekhar proudly points out that Masoom 2 stars four National Award winners: Naseer, Shabana, Manoj, and Nithya.

The Night Manager (Disney+ Hotstar)

Sometimes the biggest of strategists can go wrong. The minds that decided to split writer-director Sandeep Modi’ s The Night Manger into two (messily amputated ) halves , have done the series a huge disservice.

Part 2, as it were, is a vegan’s delight. All the meat was in Part 1, and even the principal performances were more accentuated by the predominant emotions in the first-half. The second-half is all about nemesis. And not of the subtle variety.

There are no new revelations for us to chew on. We know Aditya Roy Kapoor’s Shaan Sengupta has infiltrated the antagonist arms dealer Shelly Rungta’s organization.

We saw in Part 1 that Shaan won the ruthless Rungta’s trust by staging his son’s kidnapping and rescue. Miraculously the little boy disappears in the second half.Maybe he got kidnapped again,this time for real, and we don’t know about it.

It is easy to praise the protagonist of any show because the job of this person in the show is to make sure the mission is a success at any cost. He or she has to come forward and put their life on the line, and that requires determination and courage to pull off the role without flinching, not even for a second. The same can be said of Shaan from The Night Manager because, as an ex-hotelier and ex-soldier, he came forward to help the intelligence service get rid of a rich and suave arms dealer.

Shaan heard of Shailendra Rungta for the first time from Lipika when he passed on the information Safina had on her husband, Freddie Rehman. He was shocked to learn that a large illegal deal could be happening at his place of work. Safina’s innocence and desire to live made him want to help her.

It is always good to write an entire article about the protagonist. But how about doing the same for the antagonist, especially the larger than life Shelly Rungta in The Night Manager because he deserves a fair share for having made the cinema engaging till the end? They exist, and that is why protagonists exist too. They are the yin and yang of cinema who cannot live without each other.

The British show, adapted for the screen by David Farr and directed by Sussane Bier, took the audience through the world of arms deals, civil unrest, and the politics of the Middle East and North Africa and how British intelligence was indirectly involved in them. In the Hindi adaptation, created by Sandeep Modi and written by Shridhar Raghavan, the setting was altered to reflect the politics of the Indian sub-continent and how intelligence messes with the domestic matters of neighboring countries for the national interest.

Mumbai, Feb 21 (Ians) Actress Sobhita Dhulipala, who made her acting debut with ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ and is currently seen playing the mysterious role of Kaveri in the web series ‘The Night Manager’, recalled an experience in Sri Lanka during which Aditya Roy Kapur got terrified by fireflies.

‘Dil Diyaan Gallan’ actress Kaveri Priyam, and ‘Jodha Akbar’ fame Ravi Bhatia have come together for a music video ‘Yaad Karoge’, along with Imran Nazir. The song sung by Sandeep Jaiswal has been shot in Udaipur.

This is the Hindi adaptation of John Le Carre’s 1993 novel, ‘The Night Manager’, which was made into a BBC television series in 2016 starring Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Elizabeth Debecki and Olivia Colman.

Actor Chethan Cheenu, best known for playing the lead in Telugu films like Charmi-starrer ‘Manthra-2’ and ‘Raju Gari Gadha’, says that the shooting of his next film, which is being directed by actress Kaveri Kalyani, is over and that post production work of the film is going on in full swing.

The actor, who has been getting consistently good offers in Telugu, will be looking to establish himself in Tamil with this bilingual film, which incidentally will mark the debut of actress Kaveri as a director.

A slipper was also thrown into the field, allegedly aimed at players. These events as well as the protests on the road led to the Chennai matches being shifted.
