Father of Director/Producer Adam Kane.

His mother, Sarah Berman, emigrated from Belarus in 1914. His father, Nathan Cohen, came from a family of Russian musicians.

Pianist, film composer, and conductor. Trained under Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, a faculty member and teacher of film music at the Los Angeles Conservatory of Music, and Dr. Albert Harris. Kane was an inductee into the Columbus Senior Musicians Hall of Fame in 1998.
