This March, science and magic converge in a brand-new Iron Man story that bridges new talent and epic innovation with Iron Man: Hong Kong Heroes. Originally conceived around the opening of the Hong Kong Disneyland Iron Man Experience attraction, Marvel is bringing this exciting tale to the United States for the first time along with Hong Kong based talent, in a special one-shot by Howard Wong with art by Justice Wong.
The battleground is Stark Expo, and the focus is a new invention by the name of Stark Emergency Response Exosuit – otherwise known as the Sere-x. The sinister Baron Mordo and Armin Zola have teamed up to attempt to steal a magical artifact from Doctor Strange that merges technology and ancient dark magic. And it’s Iron Man’s job to keep the technology out of the hands of evil!
“Howard and Justice are an outstanding combo on this book!

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from Season 2 of “Stranger Things.”]
Matt and Ross Duffer have never hidden their inner cinephiles, and Season 2 of “Stranger Things” brings a slew of new homages to horror, action, and adventure films. On top of those are all the ’80s pop culture references essential when making a series set in that decade. Here’s an episode-by-episode breakdown of all the references and homages in the second season (sans music, which will be included in another post).

The film would have premiered two days before the events of the season begin, which happens to be October 28, 1984. “Ghostbusters” (1984) – The paranormal comedy would have premiered earlier that summer and inspired the main foursome’s Halloween costumes.

What a way to start their own Rocky Horror romance!

Lance Bass says that the first person in ‘NSync he came out to was Joey Fatone, but it wasn’t on purpose. “Joey walked in on me with the guy I was dating just kind of sitting on my lap. Straight guys don’t do that.” As for Joey’s reaction? “He was like, ‘Dude, I don’t care.’ I’m like, ‘Surprise!’ Joey was just like, ‘Dude, I don’t care. I have so many gay friends — I don’t care.’”
Sony is going to make a movie called Grasshopper Jungle, and the description will make you think the executives were high when they bought it. “It’s perhaps best described as Stand By Me meets Attack The Block, a coming-of-age yarn revolving around a teenager in Iowa trying to come to grips with his own...

"Big Bad Wolves" is a dark, unsettling film about revenge, centering on a group of men seeking retribution against a man they believe kidnapped and murdered a child. It is also broadly a film with metaphorical allusions to the Middle East peace process, while equally showcasing the power of a nagging mother on the phone. In short, it's a wonderful mix of the macabre and the darkly comedic, showcasing a gallows humour in this tale of vengeance.
Israeli filmmakers Navot Papushado and Ahron Keshales have crafted a taut film that has done well on the festival circuit. Its unique mix of the horrific with the humorous caught the attention of another filmmaker used to dancing between dark and light -- Quentin Tarantino -- who called "Wolves" "the best film of the year" after a screening in Busan. The movie took home five Ophirs (the Israeli equivalent of the Oscars), and...

They say never meet your idols, and I can appreciate the underlying wisdom in that, though it has always struck me as being a bit of a joyless and dour belief. Definitely a very British one, as well.
Statements like this tend to make my hackles rise. I know within my heart of hearts that even if my hero spat on my shoe, stole my girlfriend and then drop-kicked me into moving traffic, I would still rather take the chance than fear that they would not live up to my expectations. I don’t mind my bubble being burst every now and again, and – more to the point – what if “they” are wrong? What if by some stratospheric twist of fate the person you have revered for countless years actually proves to be every bit the legend you believed he or she was all along?

Why Watch? Well, don’t you want to know the truth about Mother Goose? This quirky 1957 Disney short film takes you behind the rhyme, explaining the origins of “Little Jack Horner,” “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary” and “London Bridge Is Falling Down.” Sort of. The cartoon is somewhat more devoted to charm than accuracy, getting a few details entirely wrong. Yet if anything it makes The Truth About Mother Goose even more clever, retelling tall tales with the very loose sense of history that made them fun in the first place. Your second to reason to watch is Wolfgang Reitherman, who co-directed the short with Bill Justice. Today is Reitherman’s birthday, what would be his 104th. He was one of Disney’s “Nine Old Men,” the group of core animators that created most of the studios greatest early works. The Truth About Mother Goose was Reitherman’s first outing as a director. He...

Welcome to No Fact Zone’s weekly roundup of cultural references on The Colbert Report. From Darcy to Danger Mouse, String Theory to Shakespeare, we’ve got the keys to this week’s obscure, oddball, and occasionally obscene cultural shout-outs (hey!).
Cheerio Zoners! Pardon the late nature of my post, as I was experiencing some of my own technical difficulties. It was another high energy week-after-vacation from the folks at The Report. I especially enjoyed Stephen’s anticipation of the Royal Wedding, as well as his new line of Vacsa products. I nearly fell out of my seat when I saw the picture of him “during” his interview with Doris Kearns Goodwin. What were some of your favorite segments?

Then I tried a couple of cults: scientology, Raelianism and Apple.
Raelism is a religion based on the belief that life on Earth was created by a species of extraterrestrials called the Elohim.

Veteran animator who contributed to every aspect of Disney's output for 42 years
When the veteran animator Bill Justice, who has died aged 97, applied for a job at the Disney studio in 1937, it was on the basis of a 30-day "try-out"; he remained there for the next 42 years, contributing to every facet of Disney's output, from feature films and short cartoons to TV shows and theme park attractions.
Justice was born in Dayton, Ohio, and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he attended the John Herron Art Institute (now a school of Indiana University) to study portrait painting. In 1937, in the midst of the Great Depression, he responded to a Disney recruiting advertisement in Esquire magazine and gave up the weekly income of $65 he was then earning in order to work at Hollywood's most famous cartoon studio, for $12 a week. He began as an "in-betweener" on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs...

Looks like porn icon/actress/author Jenna Jameson might have to learn how to make love like a Broadway star: A rep for Rock of Ages confirmed that Jameson is in talks to appear on the Great White Way as strip club owner Justice in the popular show.
Though Jameson is not necessarily typical Broadway material, this piece of possible stunt casting isn’t completely unimaginable: It makes sense that a show that borrows from the likes of Poison would court someone who would fit in amongst the cast of Rock of Love. Heck, it’s not like Jameson is in negotiations for,...

I'm a fairly lucky person. I've won grand prizes in raffles -- tickets to Disneyland two years in a row during elementary school! -- dinners in fancy restaurants, and even a year's supply of Pepsi. With that streak, I was convinced I was going to win the 2010 Dream Home contest, sponsored by Hgtv. I faithfully entered every day for seven weeks, envisioning myself with the $2 million grand-prize package: a brand spankin' new, custom-designed and fully furnished Pueblo-style home outside of Santa Fe, N.M.; a 2010 Gmc Terrain, and $500,000. Well, the winner was announced last night, and (sad face) it wasn't me.

So Valentine’s Day, despite having awful reviews, sucked $56.4 million out of love struck wallets over the weekend. This is good because they had to pay Julia Roberts $3 million to appear in the film, plus a percentage. For a little perspective, that means she made $500,000/minute of screen time, or $8,333/second. Taking it by dialog, she got $11,952/spoken word.
Maybe she can spend some of that money wiping her behind with cashmere, as grocer Waitrose in the UK has introduced toilet paper infused with cashmere oil for those people who lighting candelabras with $100 bills has become passé.

Geoff Johns' big night finally comes around this evening with the epic two-hour premiere of his "Smallville" story "Absolute Justice." He's got a special screening lined up, and you can check out who he's taking with him today in his tweet feed.
There was some truly momentous tweeting going on in the world of webcomics this morning as Rene Engström's cartoony relationship comic "Anders Loves Maria" came to an end, and it's worth checking out from the beginning. Much like LeVar Burton, you don't have to take my word for it, though. Bryan Lee O'Malley's a fan as well. You can find his contemplation of the comic's end, as well as Stan Lee's fears about his "Thor" cameo and Jason Aaron's plans for his Wolverine writing this year.
It's all in the Twitter Report for February 5, 2010.
@GeoffJohns0 Tomorrow I'm going to a screening at Warner Brothers of Absolute Justice.
